First that is not a racist comment just another way to say I have had a bad February.
1. 6mo child has been sick all month with head congestion, bronchitis, chest congestion, stopped up, formula change, four rounds of antibiotics, et al.
2. Got a flipping speeding ticket
3. Put boat in the water for the first test run and it was running hot. New water pump and 625 bucks later it is fixed.
4. Put boat in again yesterday for first ride of the year. My buddy rides first for about 15 minutes and glides up on a sandbar. Let his 3yo play in the water and on his new board. Then my buddy's wife surfs for about 15 minutes. Then I surf about 15 minutes. Boat running cool thank goodness. I strap on the board. Buddy pulls me up and after about 30 yards he stops. Prop smoked a stump or log under water. Bent prop to hell and back. Bent shaft stabilizer. Bent prop shaft it appears. Couldn't do more than bump it in and out to idle back to the ramp about 500 yards away. Got home and it did a very minute amount of fiberglass damage at each corner of the shaft stabilizer. FML!
5. Headed to the doctor today with what is most likely a severe upper respiratory infection. Have been fighting a chest cold for a week.

So all in all I probably should have stayed home yesterday and helped the wife with the kid. Would have prevented a jacked up boat and might have prevented this chest funk from getting worse. FML!!!

sick today so haven't taken it over there, my buddy the fiberglass repair guy said probably a grand for the shaft, strut, and prop plus his glass repair bill, so i'm sure it will be an insurance claim, scratched the lower gelcoat because we had to back the trailer so far down in the water and walk it up on the trailer so I may at least get a buff job on the lower gelcoat out of it, still sucks

omfg that blows. I feel terrible for you. The only bright side is that you got to get out and ride a bit. Still too cold here. But damn man, that blows. GL with the repairs, I'm also curious how much it'll run ya.

it is going to be at least double my $1000 deductible, and I only got to ride for about 10 seconds, should know today the exact monetary damage, it is has kind of taken the wind out of my sails so to speak

estimate is $6940, adjuster is taking a look tomorrow, i mean D@MN.....6940??? $1500 in parts alone, that would be a tough pill to swallow if I didn't have insurance on it
