I am looking at a liquid Force Squirt 122

for my two daughters this will be there first board so I am trying to find some thing cheap at first to find out if they will like it before bying the good stuff.
I have been doing a lot of reading and there are a lot of options out there.
Daughter 1 = 13years old around 90lbs
Daughter 2 = 10years old around 55-60lbs
The board is 65.00 with no bindings. I am sure I will have to get different bindings sizes for the girls.

Question: Is this a decent beginner board.
This board should work for both girls starting out right?
any other things I should be considering?
Do all the different bindings fit all the different boards?

Thanks for your help on this.

This is strictly an opinion if I had to do over again...... When we first started my son was 8-9 and about 75#s and we went out and bought a beginner board similar to what you are looking at. Once he learned how to get up within a month we were already looking for a larger board and wish we had started with the second board we got.
Also I believe the 122 would be a bit small for the 13yr....

I would buy the board for the size of the 13yr old maybe 132 and you might be able to get bindings that both can work with both girls.....

wellsjj, You may be able to pick up some adjustable sandal/foot-strap style bindings for really cheap. They're easy to get in to/out of and can adjust to multiple foot sizes and would be perfect for your application of being cheap to start.

If they ever start learning to jump the wake or anything you will definitely want to upgrade (there are some nice combo packages out there with both boards and bindigs) but for just learning to get up and ride around they will be fine. If you do upgrade if/when they decide they like wakeboarding, I would get a slightly bigger size so they can grow in to the boards.

Thanks guys
I am going to do some more looking around for different bindings. So I am guessing that open toed would be better to try and get both girls in the same binding?

I am trying to find some thing used for the girls to try out before I go and get a 500 dollar board. Is it true that bindings can switch from board to board?
Any recommendations on combo board and bindings? What kind of a price range should I be looking at?

Thanks for the help

I'd say it would probably work pretty good...especially considering the price. The 122 will be a little on the small side for the older one, but it should work pretty good. The smaller size will only make it ride a it lower in the water which may not even be noticeable until they get to a certain stage with tricks.

I would agree that open toed bindings will help you fit a larger range of foot sizes. As far as board sizes. I would agree that you should just get a larger board to start with - the kids aren't even going to notice the difference.

When I started my parents got me a board that was a 141 and I weighed like 145 lbs. That didn't even bother me until YEARS later. And by then it was almost my size.

Get a bigger board and save your money for bindings.

I originally bought an airhead youth board from walmart for my daughters (10 & 12) to ride. They were having trouble just getting outside the wake. Ended buying a Liquid Force Luna 137 off ebay for $100 new. It was all the difference in the world, started cutting through the wake with no problem.

Last summer we taught twelve of their friends (same ages 10 - 12) to wakeboard also. Only had 2 that couldn't get up.

my wife and daughters ( 14 and 10 ) all ride a 131 with open toe bindings with no problem and my son (7) rides a 121. I would definitely go larger than a 122 if you want them both to be able to use it.

What do you guys think about this one??

"Fly" is one of the easiest women's boards to ride
Top counter provides less swingweight and more responsiveness
Cupped rails for incredible hold while on the edge
Four molded fins for awesome tracking and super solid landings
Fast 3-stage rocker and strong flat spot to send you springing off the wake
LENGTH...52.0"/132CM
WIDTH...16.25"/41.3CM
ROCKER...2.15"...3 STAGE
STANCE...17.0"-23.5"

It comes with Blindside Bindings?
Does any one have any advice with this manufacture of board??
The board is a Fly Comp Zone...

That would be a good board for them to start with and still be able to grow in to.
