3 stage rockers or Continuous rockers? Mild or aggresive? Have you ridden both and can you tell me what you like and why? Heavy or light people like it different?
I am curious....
Thanks a bunch! |

a continuous rocker will ride smoother over the wake, and give you a cleaner release for in-to-the flats type tricks. a three stage will punch through the wake and pop more vertically, giving you lower tension after the pop for easier spins or handle passes. both have positives, both have negatives. blended rockers tend to work well for most riding styles, such as the Ronix District or Bill, and the LF Witness. these have features from both that will give you some of the best of both worlds. _________________

I've always preferred 3-stage because I like to take most of my tricks wake-2-wake rather than into the flats. Easier on the knees. Timing is a little trickier, but that comes with practice. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

| I love me some blended action. I'm a huge fan of the LF Witness behind the boat. I don't have a lot of experience with 3-stage though as I've always tended to go towards the continuous route. |

I rode solely 3-stage before I started riding flex boards (SS for me), and when I went to flex, I tried continuous and I have really liked the fast, smooth edging. I may want to try 3-stage again because I haven't tried a 3-stage flex, and I too love w2w, but my flex continuous has been wonderful for w2w as well. _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

I've ridden both, intermittently through the years. I like a good wake to wake kick and have found some continuous boards that provide exactly that. Last year I rode a Transcend and mid-season switched to the Faction, was comfortable by the first ride.
I think such a big deal is made out of rocker and all the funky names for essentially the same thing. What people forget is that a wider board with a continuous rocker will share similar characteristics to a narrower 3-stage board. Each has benefits and negatives. |

| Personally, I like the 3 stage rocker. I am currently riding an '09 Ronix mana and love it. I was riding my buddy's hyperlite continuous board, but after trying the Mana I couldn't go back to it. I found the 3 stage to be a lot softer when I land in the flats too.. I have bad knees, so this was pretty important to me. I get a lot farther and higher with the 3 stage as well.. Possibly just due to the difference in board quality tho. It's tough to compare a hyperlite to a ronix board... I'm 6'2 and 180 pounds riding a 138 board. |

I'm a continuous kind of guy. To most accurately answer your question I'm about 200 lbs so on the heavier side (but I'm in good shape).
For me it's about the smooth edging and not having the "plow" feeling. The 3 stages I have ridden I feel like they *really* drag in the water. I also never felt like I got more pop out of them - but perhaps I never got the timing down.
I've ridden some hybrids like the LF Shane and absolutely loved it. I ride the continuous slingshot now and love it. I like my boards loose and sloppy because I feel it accents my riding style - smooth and easy flowing.
I've never felt that a rocker line would limit any particular rider - it will just change how the board feels to them. _________________ Today is a chance to become a greater person than the person we were the day before. |

| me - I ride the SS response - tried the ONE - also liked the pop - so now I have both and switch it up depending upon the day... I do have to admit I put more time on the SS - much easier busting it loose and working the drills. for the big air - break out the ONE - |

I ride a Watson Hybrid 143.
I am approx 220 Ibs. 195cm.
It is a 3-stage rocker, but it just feels different, than some of my other 3-stage boards. Must be the flex.
Never been to happy with the continuous rocker. Don´t know why??
Any way it rips on both cable and behind the boat. Best board I ever had.
only 1 1/2 month until the cable opens, cant wait to get the season started. |

I think the moral of the story here is that it's 100% personal preference It's kind of cool listening to other people that like other tastes than your own. _________________ Today is a chance to become a greater person than the person we were the day before. |
