Picked up a Hyperlite Vigilante 138 from performance. They basically took a Roam and added a layer of foam to it. Still has no bottom contours but now you can put fins on it. I changed out the junky looking fins that it came with with my Ronix Sintered slider fins. Definitely going to play around with the fin setup, I may leave the back fins for control and take off the front fins for better presses. I don't really plan on hitting kickers with it because of the wood core. The 2010 Ronix boots fit on perfectly without having to get any sort of extenders or special plates or what have you. Here are some pics. For $260 along compared to the average life of a true cable board, it definitely seemed like it was worth a shot. It comes in a 143 which just seemed a little too big. The biggest board I've ridden is a 141 and that is pretty much my limit. Plus since the cable is going a little slower, you don't need as big of a board logging you down.

Those corners look like pretty frail if you ever came up short on an ollie or ran in to something, I guess edges would blow out on a lot of boards in that scenario but those tips are just screaming "BREAK ME!"

edit: I say this as someone who's done it before.... a few times.

da Liks, I have a few boards for the cable Wink . Witness grind and Watson hybrid for all around boards that are sturdy. Bombing off kickers on a board like that will put havoc on my knees that I can't afford. just had an extra set of bindings that I figured I could throw a rail setup together and for $260 it is worth the boards purpose.

Looks like a nice board for sure. Ride the same as the roam then when the fins are removed?

Nice shots! I love the witness. I've been riding the Watson hybrid all season and it's a ton of fun but I think i might hop back on the Witness soon, gotta work on my air tricks this year.
