I'm looking for a new SS, Flex, or Watson Hybrid and was planning on getting one on closeout. So far I can't find any 2010 closeouts out there. Did I miss the boat or have they not gone on closeout yet?

Not a real good sale at the moment I would wait a few days untill they have a sale on one of the boards you are lloking for. Last week they had a 30% discount on al boards on top of the outlet price so I was able to get a 2010 Marek for $200 Looking at the boards you want the Watson Blem is at $420 at the moment but if you wait I bet you can get another $70-100 off that price

Pookie94, how do you like the Watson Hybrid? I keep going back and forth on whether I want to grab that or the SS.

fd2blk, that Watson Blem is the FLY series. I'm looking for the Hybrid, which I haven't seen on sale yet. It may not go, I guess we'll see.

Wow, sorry, I've seen that Fly Blem so many places I just assumed. No way in hell I'm paying $419 for a blem board. That's ridiculous. $350 is my max for a new non-blem. I'll go SS if I can't find a better deal.

Like I said just wait a week or two and keep checking untill they have a special, last week it was 30% off the outlet price so the Blem was $294 Vs $419

Hybrid boards were not over produced this season. Most dealers and LF ran out of the Hybrid boards. I bet you will not find many of those left so I bet dealers will not close those out and if they do they will not be cheap.

SS boards might be around still but Slingshot is running out of most sizes on the Reflex and Recoil.

I'd just call them and try and get a better deal over the phone on that blem and ask them what is wrong with it.

Pookie94, good call. Found a 143 listed for $319 on ebay.

When board shops have inventory at the end of the season they are allowed to drop below MAP (minimum advertised price) and will generally sell product at much lower prices. These are known as closeouts. Every board shop will do them with whatever product they have in excess.

Wakebrad, don't let the word "blem" discourage you. the "blem" is usually just a (very) minor defect that the regular joe can't see. all i've ridden the past few years have been blems. i've yet to break one and none of them had flaws that affected its performance.

btw, most boards on ebay are blems...why do you think they're so "cheap"?

I've bought a few boards off ebay and have never received a Blem before. I don't have a problem buying them but just think they should be marked down lower than $300 for a closeout blem.

jumalian, what are your thoughts on the slingshot vs hybrid watson? The main thing I'm looking to add with the flex is softer landings, secondly tailpresses and whatnot. Does the Watson have enough flex to provide this? Is the slingshot recoil flex going to be too much for 100% wake riding?

i've never ridden the hybrid watson but have ridden the ss....and hated it! it didn't pop nearly as big as my shane board. the landings hurt like hell, too. (might have something to do w/ the ss bindings, too)

jumalian, hmm, yeah. I rode the SS once and when I put the tail down first, man the landings were soft. But I didn't feel like I ever really got the hang of the pop. Flex in the middle of the board definitely doesn't help the pop. I'm leaning toward the Watson.

yeah, i heard that a lot from ss riders. i'm sure they're kick ass on rails but it's ridiculous that you have to land tail first to get soft landings behind the boat.

are you going to use the board on rails/cable?

jumalian, mostly wake riding. There are now a few cables here in DFW, but I've always used a crap old board for sliders so I don't ding up my new ones. Although with the hybrid I may have to give it a try.

Just an FYI evogear has a special taking an extra 20% off all boards in the outlet so you can get the Blem $336 for and an non blem for $360 if my math is correct just need to add the discount code Moresnow once the item is in your cart, realy not a bad deal with free shipping. I would tell you to wait untill they get a better special like I got of 30% but it looks like they only have one 2010 nonblem board left but personly I was not willing to pay the extra $$$ for a non blem
