Well I'm planning on building a rail out at the lake and I was wanting a little in put on whats better PVC pipe, wood or that composite decking for the top rail?

The composite deck stuff (trex) has a super consistent slide, but is rough on boards. If you can, track down some UHMW PE, which is what OWC uses for all their their rails, and what UNIT obstacles are built out of. It's virtually indestructible, slides super smooth, and doesn't harm the board too much.

Another good surface is HDPE (High Density PolyEthylene) Sheeting. Its super slick when wet and doesnt phase even the regular boards without a slider base. The only problem with buying it in a roll is its going to be wavy, so youll have to stretch it over your slider.

how thick would you buy it? i used trespa for my kicker but its not as slick as i thought. now i want to rebuild my kicker and build a slider too. but i need a good surface..

What i bought was 1/8 thick. you have to be real careful about screwing it down tho. when you go to countersink it, you bearly have to hit it or it will wallow out the entire hole. I paid $175.00 shipped for a 60ft long x 2ft wide roll.
