I got a new boat this year (supra launch 21v) and plan on getting as much use out of it as i can. I was just looking to see how many people tough it out and how they deal with the cold. I picked up a long sleeve wet suit top and plan on getting a full suit when it gets a little cooler. I'm also adding the hot water shower and heater to the boat.

Im up in canada but we ride as close to ice on and ice off as possible. We were out yesterday and air was 56, water was 47.

A full wetsuit is great but when water temps dip below 55, I'm usually in my Dry Suit. I love that thing. Dry and warm.

yeah a drysuit is probably the best way to go then! i'm going to the cable today, next week is the last weekend its open. almost no one on the water cuz its so cold! i have a 5mm wetsuit so that's pretty great for now except for my feet, they hurt when i get in the water without my board strapped on!!! and i cant get neoprene socks cuz of the closed toe bindings that fit perfectly..

dry suit is a must up here in wisconsin. It has fully surpassed my expectations. With neoprene booties, neoprene facemask, and some ski gloves, I can ride literally into winter when the snow is falling and then switch straight to snowboarding. Same for early season. I can snowboard all the way up into wakeboarding.

I'm not really sure how cold it gets in nevada? Maybe you could make it by with a full wetsuit?

Edit: I just saw that it only gets down to mid 50's in your "winters". Must be nice. I've ridden in a dry suit in 44 air temp 39 degree water temp and it was just fine.

juice535LV, hit me up if you need some guys to ride with. we probably won't be out in vegas again till it warms up, but my friends and I try to ride out in lake mead a few times every summer.
we pay for gas and will help wash the boat up when done.
enjoy your new boat and you shouldn't need more than a 3/2 fullsuit for the winters in the water. however the air temp gets pretty chilly out on the lake.

oneill boost suit all the way. Definitely a great suit! I think that's the main one most people ride in. Cheers.

I have a custom fit drysuit from Hammond Drysuits and we ride down to 37/38f water.

Nice and warm, generally it's too windy and crappy over the winter to bother much though.
