| Ok looking for a little help with if I should buy a new board or not. I have a 2005 3DS 135 and have a great deal on a 2010 Hyperlite Marek Biolite 136. My question is they seem real similar in shape and I love the way my board rides but it is pretty heavy but is there a big improvement on the Marek Particularly with the weight on the Biolite 3 Vs my old Biolite 3DS. I can save about $220 if I get it today (On sale for $228) just don't know how much better , if any the new Marek is compared to my 3DS any input is appreciated |

i don't know anything about the 2 boards in question.
however
#1 do you need a new board? (is your board holding you back?)
#2 do you have $250 laying around to spend on a new board?
#3 is there anything else you would like to spend $250 on? |

no I don't need a new board but would like to have a board to progress with and know I like the Hyperlite 3DS shape over my Ronix One (I actual got the 3DS for a boat board for $50 but just like it more then the Ronix) |

My answer to these questions is always yes. Since there are no local board shops to demo boards on, if I can afford a new board, I buy it, try it, whichever one I like less gets re-sold. You probably wouldn't lose that much money on the deal and this forum's classifieds section is a great way to turn over gear and help a fellow boarder out by providing a good product for a reasonable price.
If you have the $, do it. For me it's the only way to try different shapes. Also, I don't think you should buy a board because you think it will help you progress. You can do loads of tricks on the crappiest of boards as long as it fits you correctly. You should be doing it with that attitude that you want to try a new "feel". In 10 years of boarding with 6 different boards, I have never started riding a board that all of a sudden gave me wings. It just "feels" better towards your riding style. _________________ Today is a chance to become a greater person than the person we were the day before. |

| Well I got a Blem for $206 and free shipping so I pulled the triger. I have been wanting a new board for a while, realy ever since I got the Ronix One and prefered the ride of the hyperlite, so I am hoping the Marek rides a lot like the 3DS and know it will be a lot lighter. Just sold my One to a buddy who loves the board and has has his bindings on it for two months now so in the end it is a win win. |

If you don't like & want to try another Hype board. I've got a 2010 Murray 142 Nova Blem (barely) for $300, been ridden once.
I'll admit, I have hijacked and for that I am ashamed.... |
