You're totally right, I gotta get some pics of me when I'm younger so when I'm older and rotund I can look back and say "see look at how in shape I was when I was a younger!"

Are you in the area? Sounds like you're in texas Wink

Chattwake, I only got to do ballast with no wedge - the guy kept telling me to pinch to two latches in and I kept telling him I was and that it wasn't dropping. So he bent down and tried it too - and the wedge didn't drop. Finally we decided to look at it when we got it out of the water and just ride ballast.

Turns out there are two sets of latches (4 little knobs total) and I was pinching the pair you would pinch if you wanted to get the wedge back up.

I will say I was a little sad because I thought the wedge was going to be a floating wedge (where you don't have latch it in the down position). I was thinking you just drop the wedge and the fin would drag itself down. Turns out I was wrong and personally I think dropping the wedge is going to be a PITA until I get used to it.

Unfortunately as previously mentioned the tranny took a sh*t on the drive (we made it home though) so the truck is going to be getting worked on and until it's fixed the boat sits being unused. I'm still absolutely itching to try the wedge + ballast.

That's a sharp looking VLX btw. I *LOVE* everything about the LSV so far. IT'S HUGE.

The only downside I've seen so far is the rubber mat on the fiberglass swimstep rubs the black ink off on your feet and it ends up EVERYWHERE inside the boat. That kind of crap isn't gonna fly so I guess I'm going to have to look into getting a teak replacement. I'm sure that's going to cost me an arm and a leg. Kind of irritated that it's even an issue, you'd think malibu would try out the materials a little bit and realize it's tracking ink all over the place and come up with a suitable replacement.

Of course these are all minor complaints, but I do really wish the wedge was like I thought (where you just drop it and drive) and I do really wish the swim step wasn't an issue.

I'll get some pics of the inside and how ridiculously big it is posted up this weekend.

Just peel it off and get a replacement. The new ones don't do that (I had one that did what yours is doing). In the meantime keep the platform out of the sun if you store it outside.
