So I'm about as giddy as a school girl. After some years of waiting we finally get to buy the boat of our dreams. This will be our boat until we run the prop off her
I've watched as others have gotten their boat of their dreams one by one. And for just an instant, today it's my 15 minutes of bliss. I grabbed some pics to throw up. I never thought I'd be cool with a yellow boat (was never my thing) but this one had enough black for me to get over it in a hurry.
I'd say the worst part is that I have to wait 3 weeks before we can go pick it up due to obligations outside our control. Any way you cut it I'm riding behind that boat when we get there no matter how cold it is.
I'll throw up a post in the "share your boat" section once it gets back home with some more pics. In the mean time I just wanted to share the stoke.

Wakeboarder3780, Congrats man! you are going to love it, I remember when my family got ours.. already 2 and a half years ago now..
hawkster0001, Looks to me to be one of the factory Titan towers, many say they were more solid than the illusion towers.. doubt there's much to worry about with it

awesome thanks guys! Yeah it's the titan tower and I was curious what those little rails were by the mounts too.
I was interested to hear blind mention that they were revered as more solid than the illusion towers. Personally I was also a little sad it didn't have the illusion tower. But maybe someday when we have nothing better to spend our money on we can try out the illusion with some spinner racks
Okie - I'm definitely pumped. I was glad to have the sunsetter and it's going to be sad when I sell it and see it leave, some good memories on the boat, but my goodness LOOK AT THE SHINY!
I feel like this child except replace "fluffy with shiny"

b33nine, Will do for sure. The anticipation is nearly crushing. I'll have to print out some pics to hang up at work so I don't go insane.
JeffreyCH, That's how I've always felt too. Not a big fan. For some reason this one struck me as kinda sexy I think it's because it seems there is more black than yellow (at least when it's sitting in the water). It's a shame the interior is completely lacking of any black though.
Then I think about how roomy it will be and how nice it will be to have hidden ballast. I become sick with anticipation.

Wakeboarder3780, forgot to mention, www.themalibucrew.com is a great forum dedicated to these awesome boats! check it out if you haven't already and definitely become a member. It's a great way to learn more about your boat, meet and talk to other malibu owners, get help fast when you need it, get in on group deals and all sorts of other things.

Thanks blind, I'm a member there and do find it extremely useful. In fact I'm using it right now to discover how to winterize a boat I don't even own. And honestly I think I already have it figured out

Oh and as far as if I have any plans with it, no. It already has more than I would put on it if I owned it from day one. So assuming the stock ballast + wedge is enough wake for me I won't be making any modifications.
If I end up wanting additional ballast I would need to figure out if I could plumb it into the existing system somehow. Otherwise it might turn out to be a pretty "hacky" solution.
Additionally I *do* want to add a hot water shower to it for the march - may and september - November time frames. But I'm afraid how much it would cost. Anyone add one afterwards and know how much they cost? Part of me almost wonders if I couldn't just install it myself. I don't know where the tubes of hot water eventually go, but if someone showed me their system I bet I could install one if the price was too steep to have someone else do it.
There are also a couple small holes in the vinyl that I'd like to get repaired by a professional. Anyone know anyone in Wisconsin that does a lot of it? Anyone had it done for a couple small holes and know how much it cost them?

It won't be imo. I rode behind one a couple weeks back and it was lacking to be honest. I've ridden behind our X-Star and a buddies 21' Bu this year and we load them down pretty good and the stock+wedge just didn't hold up on the 23' Bu. It's a great shape, but I wanted more for sure.

| oh wowo, i didnt even notice all the speakers and stuff, but im sure if you got a couple Y spliters and 10- 15' of hose you could plum in two sacs in the rear and maybe a bigger one in the middle/front in place of the current one or replace the mid with a bow sack, that is im assuming it has the 900lbs setup? two 350's in the rear and a 500 tank in the mid/front

Are you getting this from TNT? Or from Vermont? Pics show two different registration numbers. I know the boat from TNT (my backyard), but didn't know the owner was selling it.
If it is down here. I'll tell Andrew you said it was okay for me to borrow it for the weekend. Thanks.

Are my eyes deceiving me?
Months away from the site and his first post back is in the wake forums?
It cannot be him, someone hacked into his account and is playing a cruel joke.

lol, vermont
And wouldn't you know it we had transmission issues 3/4 of the way out there - and we didn't even have the boat attached yet! Tranny clunking from 1st to 2nd and when in reverse it sounded like marbles spinning around.
There wasn't much we could do but give it a shot and believe it or not, we made it the WHOLE way home without breaking down. The drive back sucked though because I couldn't trade off to my wife (didn't want it to fail while she was driving) and since the real risk was in shifting we went as far as our gas tank would take us before stopping which meant long LONG hours in the vehicle without any moving.
Well anyways tonight we sold the old boat too. Bittersweet, but it will help pay for the transmission I suppose. Oh well if something isn't breaking life would be too simple I'll get some more pics posted up here when I get some free time.

Oh yeah and this one is actually on a ferry to save us a TON of driving through these crazy hilly windy 2 lane roads that had a max speed of 50 mph. This easily saved us 2 hours of nasty driving that would have taxed the transmission big time.

| Nice! I had an '07 VLX a while back. I love that titan tower! I'll see if I can find a pic of my old boat. I thought the wedge + stock ballast was really pretty good in my VLX. I'd like to see what you think of this boat's wake.
