I bought a couple used boards.
What is the PROPER way to care for the finish? To use a poly car wax to clean and shine the top & bottom??

Or just a general house cleaner spray - is that good for the clear coat??

If I had a NEW one, I could read the care and maintenance in the literature.
Thanks for any insight or experiences. M.

All you need to do is let it dry sufficiently. I wouldn't wax it, clean or put anything on it. Keep it out of the sun as much as possible and it will be fine. Generally, I just toss mine in the trunk of my car with my vest and everything else and forget about it.

hosing the board and boots off after each ride seems to be sufficient

i used diluted simple green to clean and some quik wax to protect when i brought my board home.. it was a demo and this cleaned it really well. was curious as to what type of finish is on the board but figured simple green, water and a little wax would be gentle enough for it. it looks way better and is holding up alright...

+1

Wakeboards are really very easy to maintain. If you ever chip or crack it you may want to dabble in some light fiberglass repair (drip some resin in the hole and get it water tight again (just so the inside foam can't get wet and rot out).

yeah and with the sun thing, try and always put it on the ground/ dock boots down, that way the fading is even and theres not gonna be as much of a yellow spot (if its white) or discoloration

Yep...and putting your board in the boardrack with the bindings facing down will help as well.

And like others have said, no waxing or soap or cleaning products are necessary.
