This definitely intrigues me. It would be great for cable riding. I wonder how the performance and weight will be. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

I'm sorry... I know they are "awesome", but can we please get a boot that doesn't look like it came from the movie "Tron"? _________________ '08 Mobius LS |

I guess I don't really get it. If you use them on land and wear down the sole then it seems like they wont lock into position properly. Admittedly, that's conjecture on my part, because I haven't had the chance to see them in person or even look at the bottom of them. But it looks like the boot has a channel on the bottom that fits over the base plate of the binding.
Makes sense for cable or winching, but none for boat riding. Which is why it confuses me that they did it to their whole pro-model lineup. From the looks of it it adds another step between grabbing my board out of the rack and riding.
I'll be curious to see what people have to say about them, but for people who primarily ride behind a boat, I don't see what benefits they offer. _________________ wakeboards

I'm suprised it's taken this long for a legit company to try a full snowboard boot/binding set-up. Not because I think it's a good idea or not, but because it's easy to market "full snowboard level control".
I think it's a terrible idea for cable. Having all that TSR shoreline mud cake on them just adding weight to your long walk back to the dock... _________________ "I'm scared if I stop drinking all at once, the cumulative hangover will literally kill me." |

I got to use them this weekend, and while they are comfy, the highbacks drag the water on hard heelside cuts, and you get limited mobility. Keep an eye on them though, with some tweaking i think it could be really good. Heel/toe response is instant, like I've heard many people say, which was really good, But I'd like to see the whole thing slimmed up a little bit, with less cupping on the highback so it's easier to move your ankle side to side. _________________

LakeIolaLuke, thats sweet, how did you get too try them? and i kinda figured that, i saw this then decide to throw my old snowboard boots on my wakeboard with thebinding plates going oppisite and they di drag the heels, the main reason i think they dont have many systems like this for wakeboards is becasue for snowboarding/skiing your ide last less the two mins normally, and then if you have to get somwhere, its not like you can take your feet out of your boots and and what across the snow...? but with boarding, your 99% of the time not gonna have to go across icebergs when your wakeboarding (@redbull) |

i think the idea is retarded.... who wants to walk around in wet boots anyway, imagine how bad they would start to smell.... i dont like flex boards but slingshot deffinately has a wayyy better boot system for winching/cable, booties are where its at for winching... i ride boat mostly so im gonna stick with my obrien stuff |

at ski rixen there's no mud it's just sand and rocks so it wouldn't be so bad for where i ride cable occasionally |

The whole lineup? Talk about corporate suicide - nothing like diving head first into something.
1) Don't want to have to buy 3 different items to get a board setup if I don't have to.
2) I don't want to have to do MORE work to get my board on. Now I'd have to lace into my boots and then strap into my board too.
3) How about releasing on bad crashes? I thought the point of wakeboarding boots was to allow you to eject on hard crashes so it doesn't pull your joints apart.
If there is value for some people at cable parks then more power to you. But for boat riding this actually just adds more hassle without adding value (in fact it takes away from the value we've already got) I already have stiff enough heel to toe transitions - I don't need big old bindings to go with it. _________________ Today is a chance to become a greater person than the person we were the day before. |

There will NEVER be an boot designed to "eject" at a certain torque. I always buy boots that are damn near impossible to come out of. Staying in your boots on a bad crash beats one leg in, on leg out any day of the week. They wouldn't design something that would increase the risk of getting one leg twisted to hell. _________________ "I'm scared if I stop drinking all at once, the cumulative hangover will literally kill me." |

I'm actually kind of surprised they didn't go with a step in design like the old K2 clickers. The reason those didn't catch on in snowboarding is because the mechanisms would get jammed up with snow and ice. That wouldn't be a problem in the water. That would also eliminate the high back drag Luke mentioned. _________________

Actually the reason why they didn't catch on was that they were janky and would release randomly sometimes. (Usually on hard impacts when you DON'T want them to release. Oh and due to not having any support from the highbacks the boots were REALLY heavy. _________________ wakeboards
