I have been riding an obrien cobe 142 with CWB mode bindings (2003 models??) for the past 7 years. Last weekend my bindings broke and I replaced the entire setup with a 2010 liquid force trip 142 with XX large liquid force index bindings. My shoe size is a 13, but the bindings are loose around the top of my ankle (tight around my foot). I feel like I'm going to fly out of the bindings if I jump the wake, etc.

Does anybody have an experience with these bindings in sizing? Should I exchange them with the next size down? I'm afraid my foot will stick out too far with them though. Any other binding recommendations????

May sound weird, but I've noticed quite a few people wearing socks of various thickness to take up the slack in their bindings - even the pros that were here earlier in the year.

The real problem I think with the xx large index binding I got is that my ankle/bottom of leg is too skinny for the xx large bindings, but the foot part is fine.

Should I try the (8-12, M/L) index size or try something like the 2009 Liquid Force Shane OT bindings in a x-large (12-13) size like shown here:
http://www.boardstop.com/product_info.php?products_id=3671&ref=35

Those binding have a dual lace so the top and bottom can be tighten separately.

I wear an 11.5/12 and got the 8-12 Size. I still had a little room , I would think those would be good. But hey go to a shop and try them on...

The XXL indexes run wide. I sold mine to a buddy that wears a 13 EEE and they fit him perfect. They were way loose on me.

i wear socks with my boots all the time, i have a size 12 foot, but i have to use 13-14 boots because i have a high arch and wide foot, but a skkinny ankle, so the socks deff make a load of difference in the heel hold
