Aaron...I love those days...water is still cold as f%^k...but you deal with it when you can get it like that. My fav. about riding up there is how clear the water is and how you can see the bottom bellow the board when cutting out to the flats. You are also real close to a friend of mines dock.

i went to lake austin for a lesson once. it looked nothing like that. more like 400 boats in a bath tub. most miserable wake experience of my life. and we went 45 minute boat ride north to try to get away. all was just a nightmare.

thanks killer though! Shocked

I can count on one hand how many times I've ridden on water like that. It's a thing of beauty. I end up spending most of my time doing surf carves, sprays, and dragging my fingers.

I rode on lake Austin for the first time a few weeks ago. That's a great lake. Right there in the middle of the city too. Bumped Austin in my list of places I'd like to live for sure. If I have a few mil laying around when I'm looking to retire, I'd love to have a place on the water.

i love that too. i love cutting out and flattening out and being able to see down through all the seaweed stuff that grows down there. it's like floating above a forest or something, haha. i have a buddy who has a dock out there too. when i ride up there it's usually behind his boat, an '01 or so x-star. black tower. as if that narrows it down. they've got a little white slide on the end of the dock.

45 min boat ride? i'm pretty sure i've gotten up to the top of the lake way quicker than 45 mins. down by the 360 bridge is full of tubers, floaters and those damn 2 stroke pwc'ers, i think they like to ride under the bridge because it amplifies the 2 stroke noise. anyway, once you get up past emma long park it smooths out considerably. if you have time to go during a weekday it's awesome. this pic was on like a tuesday from 2-6pm

that is the key to riding on Lake Austin. Weekends are on;y good for riding if A) you wake up early get out on the water before 8 or 9am and only want 1 or 2 pulls
B) You stick it out through a rain storm and hope all the other people went back to the boat launch
C) there is a huge event going in in Austin (i.e ACL festival)
or D) you just get lucky!

Love LA during the week for riding when the common folk are working, love it for drinking/partying/ enjoying friends (i.e girls in bikinis) during the weekends! Smile

Hoping for more days like this now that school has started! In fact this is the whole reason why I'm trying to sell my house and move to somewhere off of Cuernevaca. It fits all my criteria: It's close to work, the begining of the good water, has a private community ramp, & and I can store my boat in the driveway if I want. I just have to find someone to buy my house which fits none of those!

Lukus, I hear that...me and a buddy are looking to rent out there, or real close. His boat is at a boat dock a couple houses down from Cuerney park

I've heard during UT football games the lake is empty.

My only experiences with LA are on the weekend. So that means no riding and Hula Hut then party cove.

PK...that is one time I will never, and I mean NEVER be on the lake...during a UT football game! That takes precedence over anything. If I ever get married, it will be scheduled around UT football games...if I get a wife and she has a baby, it will not be delivered on a saturday during UT football season! I will make a doctor stuff and extra large tampon in here to keep the kid from coming out! HAHA I am a bit longhorn football obsessed. haha But yes, that is a good time to get on the lake as well...though I would not know.

Aaron...the only way to progress is riding with people that are better then you. Much easier to learn from watching people then from reading magazines. I am down for riding and meeting new peeps though!

Waketoberfest is right around the corner...good place to meet new peeps in ATX!

Dpierce and Aaron..I'm always down to ride with some new peeps! My crew is pretty small right now and I wouldn't mind meeting some other people that are passionate about the sport. I've driven through the Cuerny area a few times and love how everyone is freindly and seems to know each other (at least that's the impression I get). PM me and we'll figure something out.

I agree with riding with people better than you, it's like playing a game of catch up.

I plan on making it to Waketoberfest this year! I was out of town last year and wasn't able to make it
