Random question... but I can't find anything about this topic.
I am about to go on a 5 day wakeboard/camping trip. Going to have a great time with a handful of friends. We have a bunch of riders at different levels... overall we just want to have a good time.
Do any of you know of a "boat" game involving wakeboarding? e.g. - "H.O.R.S.E.", M&M throw from boat to boarder... etc.
Any ideas for us to mix things up would be sweet. |

While wakeskating we always played s.k.a.t.e with two people riding at the same time.
You can try stacking some pyramids if you have a few ropes handy/if you get bored. Ollie contest? Just figure out some kind of barrier to jump that you can add to the height until someone knocks it over/hits it, whoever makes it highest wins (this is annoying with a boat, better with a ski).
You could also take turns trying to barefoot. Just sit on a wakeboard or wakeskate and get the boat up to speed, then put your feet down and see what happens (make sure you're wearing a good life-vest for this, you can get some pretty epic falls). Lots of laughs for people in the boat.
I'll try to think of some other stuff we've done. |

Ride doubles and play follow the leader. It turns out kind of like horse. Play a certain score, and when that's reached the loser is out of the water, and the winner stays. Kinda skill-slanted in terms of a fair game, but it's still really fun, even if you're all just semi-comparable. _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

GnarShredd, Ive been wanting to try the barefooting off a board for a while. How fast do you go? I know I'm gonna die on some whipeouts, but are there any tips you can offer? _________________ 2010 Watson Hybrid

One of my favorite games is wakeskate jousting/fighting/wrestling.
Two (or more) people wakeskate with their own ropes and do their best to knock the other skater over without going down themselves. _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

| always fun to try adn do different stuff like getting up with two people on one board, or see how many people you can pull at once, but that can get tricky. |

leviwynnyk, 1st, I thought you're name was like Lemmiwinks like the gerbil king.
2nd, barefooting. I never really got the hang of it off of a long rope (it's easy on a boom/short rope on the boom). But i've pulled quite a few people. For speed, people tend to use the rough calculation of your weight/10 + 20. (for example, i'm 210/10 = 21 + 20 =41! I've gained some weight, haha) but again, that's really rough. usually you can get away with around 35-38mph.
Just sit on a kneeboard/wakeskate until you're up to speed and stick your feet on the water off of the sides in the front. Once you get up to speed, it's pretty much just committing to standing up. Make sure you keep your knees bent pretty good (you should be in almost a half-seated position) and your weight back. A lot of people will wear shoes (it makes things a little easier and hurts less at first).
Like I said, wear a good life-vest, the falls can be rough. |
