What's up freaks? It's been a few years since I last posted on this site. Good to see this site is still thriving Smile

I was wondering how many people have had a serious injury wakeboarding? I'm really interested in how many people have neck/spine related injuries, so let's hear it.

Myself, I've cracked my sturnham, broken most of my ribs, sprained my neck. I had to have neck surgery back in '06-'07 time frame to remove massive bone spurs impinging on my spine. They had to remove a disc around c6-c7 to get at the bone spurs out and then fused bone back in place of the missing disc. Oh, they also installed a titanium plate in my spine where the disc was replaced.

Where's buttafly at? What's up Pat? Site looks great. I hope everyone is doing well. Oh, I attached a pic of my son Logan. He's 5 now.

fyi, my neck surgery was the result of what my neuro surgeon called "repetetive whiplash". It would happen many times a year. I would take a fall which would cause my head to snap back and I would get mild-to-almost-major concussions. A few times I was actually unconscious in the water. One time, thanks to cheesy design of a new JetPilot vest, I woke from being knocked unconscious having blown my vest off only to realize I was underwater and choking! haha!

My point is, I've had many concussions. Can you say reocurring concussion syndrome? If you are even experiencing even mild concussions on a regular basis you should take a look at what you are really doing to your body and specifically your neck. I'm 40 now and my neck is junk. It still works, but it hurts an awful lot. For you younger guys and girls who are really going after bigger air and more advanced tricks, be careful of your neck/spine health. I'd make sure I got to a doctor each time I felt concussed. I'd make sure I'd see a doctor immediately if you have a numbness in your arms/legs. You may be causing nerve damage that you won't be able to fully recover from later in life.

The old saying is true. You really only have your health...

I ruptured my left eardrum last month but I'm almost healed up now and ready to start riding again (with earplugs).

this summer was my first and hopefully my last. my lateral meniscus had completely rolled up into the bottom of my knee joint, and had a terrible bucket handle tear, but the doctor was able to save it thankfully, but that also means 6+ weeks in crutches. my acl was destroyed as well, and i have a cadaver transplant in me now.
