I'm about to buy a board but I am leaving for school for the next year in Scotland mid september and was wondering if you guys had any suggestions about bringing it across with me internationally.

Take a look at how much it costs to ship via a package company, or take it with you on the plane. Both are expensive but shipping is usually cheaper, not sure about international rates though.
