After 25 miles of driving...

You arrive at the lake only to discover-no life vests on board.

Not to bash you guys...but my hubby and I have a certain system of doing things. I stand in/on the boat pulling our gear from the walls surrounding the boat-while he does not even sure what...

Today, we deviated from that system...my 16yr old daughter and he packed the boat.

Uh...huh...

We also forgot to pack the spot remover for the after boat wipedown. Luckily, I made the discovery of missing vests before we even put the plug in.

So instead of wakeboarding-I studied some stuff today and watched a lame movie. Thankfully noone has anything on their schedule tomorrow-so we'll go all day.

thats why anything we need to take is piled the center of the living room floor.
lol youd have to trip over it to forget it. and since we ride 3 days a week. it has just become the permanant storage spot for the boards, rope, jackets etc. Embarassed

Since I trailer to the lake, everything that was used that day gets draped over the sides of the boat, the platform, and the trailer once it's back in the garage. Gotta put it all away before starting off next time out. Can't forget something if it never leaves the boat.

STANG KILLA SS, thats about what we do. we stand it all up next to the tv so you see it on the way out. and after i let the vests dry, they go right back in the boat's storage compartments. actionmama, where do you usually ride? CJ or Anderson? we are thinking of going to Anderson for a weekend this summer.

We prep and stow everything the night before, thats the only way we can do it. Cause the day of, we are worried about getting the booze on board! Smile

As for spots.. I wipe her down with "the Absorber" It is awesome.. its like SHAM-WOW on steroids!

We built a great system in the garage. It's built around the boat...I never leave the boat when putting things away to dry. What happened yesterday, was we had to get gas and run a few errands on base. I refuse to pay Chevrons overinflated price of 2.99 a gal, when I can get it for 2.85. So our fault was the boat was not in the garage when it was being loaded. I feel guilty that I didn't' follow up prior to exiting the driveway.

We're on vaca this week-so we'll reattack today. VESTS ARE SITTING ON THE BOAT AS WE SPEAK.

KARTMAN: We live 23 miles from the Bruneau Arm of CJ-so we put in at Cottonwood. Everyone says CJ is 'turning'...so we followed advice and went to Anderson (54 miles one way) one Sat. Beautiful place-but way way too busy. The whole lake was chopped up and then you add the idiot jet skiiers. So...I can deal with a floatie or two at CJ to have calm water. I also think Lucky Peak and Lowell would be crazy busy-but I'm telling you noone goes to CJ for watersports anyways.

My ritual is to load the boat with the gear the night before while the wife and kids are asleep. I also stock the coolers with beverages that night, but the food is prepped and packed in the morning by my wife. If the kids (girls ages 1, 3, and 6) were up and helping we'd most likely forget something. Also, with the wife asleep I can pack it the way I want too and not be questioned about the placement of gear or why we have more of my choice of beverage then water, juice, or pop.
