It's basically cruise control. Perfect pass allows you to set a speed up to tenths of a MPH and it holds that speed for you with (hopefully) little variation even in the turns.
If you take a really hard edge out on a boat without it, it will slow down and have to speed back up, the perfect pass keeps the speed relatively constant. Mine usually doesn't get more than .3-.5 off even with 2000lbs of ballast. |

Perfect Pass is the greatest invention of all time, your driver can then concentrate on staying in a straight line and not have to stare at the speedometer. Also a lot safer that way. _________________ I love wakeboarding |

Does anyone know please tell me if the "perfect pass" works with boats with outboard? My engine is a 135hp Mercury Otimax. Is there any other brand that makes that engine speed control?
Thanks a lot... |

No. Mercruiser makes the Smart Tow system, but Mercruiser is the sterndrive division of Mercury. I think that probably indicates that the system would not be available on an outboard. More than likely, this is because outboards are generally not found in an application where you are using the boat for the type of watersports that would require something like PerfectPass/SmartTow. _________________

I dont see why it wouldn't work on any watercraft, I have a little paddle wheel under my supra that is turned by water traveling under the boat. I don't see why you couldn't put it on the bottom of any boat hull. I could be totally wrong but it makes sense that easily possible _________________ I love wakeboarding |
