| Whatever you're comfortable with. If you feel comfortable at 55 feet, ride at 55 feet. If you feel comfortable at 85, ride at 85. My old rope was 55 feet so that's what I rode at. My new rope is 75, and I'm riding at 70 right now while I dial in boat speed. I've been focusing on really getting the basics down as I have been doing things wrong all the years I've been boarding, from edging to getting the right pop. If you're a complete beginner a longer rope may be better, combined with a little slower boat speed. You can learn proper edging and pop doing one wake jumps, and the more distance between the crests the better landings you'll have. You won't be casing the top of the other wake or flying out into the flats. |

| Well I usually ride cable. But am still new to wakeboarding in general. I've been riding for maybe 3 weeks. |

Alot of it depends on the "sweet spot" of your wake. Try to get the rope to the length where you're hitting the wake at its peak.
Of course, for beginners the shorter the rope, the easier it is to clear the wake. _________________ Hilton Head Wake Sports.com

good advice above on a long rope to work on one wake jumps, when you're ready to hit w2w shorten the rope up to about 65 if you have an inboard, maybe 55 if you have an inboard/outboard, i just extended mine out to 70 in the last couple of weeks as i finally dialed in toeside wake jumps, will move on out to 75 eventually, get a rope that has as many of the 5' take offs as you can so you can adjust to whatever length you want, mine i just bought is a 60' rope with three extensions to put it at 75' plus the 5' handle makes it a 65', 70, 75', or 80' rope, there is no "right" length as a general rule, whatever you like for length go with that _________________ Lithic, LLC, my biz
