Man, does that look familar! The truth is the wakeskate makes all the difference in the world for both how bad the crashes are and getting you used to the feeling. Its all about keeping your head up and looking at the boat. _________________ 2010 Watson Hybrid

CrookedWake, not really hard, it's all mental. First time you land a legit one you say "why didn't I do this sooner?" |

Oh I am lol, I can't let this not be on video. I'm hoping it goes well though, so maybe there won't be to much carnage. |

No offense, but you are completely wrong. Easiest trick in the world, all you have to do is be able to take huge heelside wake jumps out into the flats. If you can do that, you can do a raley if you can make yourself try it. It just tends to hurt more when learning than most other tricks. |

Ya I wouldn't say it's the hardest trick, but it definitley takes some balls, and EVERYONE crashes on them a few times and the crashes tend to be..... explosions.
But like Holdworth said, the first time you land a legit one you wonder why you didn't try them sooner. Also, spectators always love the Air raley, its a crowd favorite. I've just learned them the last couple times out and have only landed 5 or 6 but I can't wait to go out this weekend and try some more.
I think the raley is a trick that shows that you have taken your riding up a notch or have put in some time (behind the boat of course not cable). there are tons of riders who can do a 1 wake tantrum or Backroll but can't even jump the wake toeside or do quality 180's, but you never (ok rarely) see a guy bust out a raley who can't jump toeside. _________________ 2010 Watson Hybrid

I hear ya. I just haven't tried one in years. Honestly I never really have spent much time trying to master them. Until now!
Oh I am sure I can produce some carnage, unless I just pull one out of my ... _________________ _________________

MAN. That is one thing about landing in the flats. There is no downslope! That movie might look big, might not. But it was BIG. The knee just couldn't take the pressure of the height and speed I assume. Or another thought was not sticking the landing evenly with both legs??? I am trying to blame it on anything, like a wave coming up or something. I knew it was a bummer during the action, the video even shows my body collapsing. MRI's are weird, my first one. The procedure was 30 minutes! Sounds like they are taking 1000's xrays or something. I will get the results tomorrow or the following day. I think that I flattened out my meniscus, or tore the MCL. We will see??? So much for dad-gum raley this week!
browneye253, What trick did you do, what happened to your knee, walked it off? MRI? recovery time? I'm really felling sorry for myself! _________________ _________________

I tore my ACL playing soccer. I had a guy put his knee right into the side of my knee and it didn't like being bent that way. I had surgery was down for a few weeks, then rehab. I've been boarding on it with no brace and haven't had any issues. The first few times out on the water after I was very timid and I still hold back going into the flats.
I'm working on rotation tricks this season and it's always in the back of my mind, but I suppose that's why I have insurance.
I chose to use my own parts for the repair and if I had it to do over again I think I would have went with a cadaver ACL instead. They take a piece of muscle from your hamstring area and I've had a horrible time with pulled hamstrings since the surgery. _________________ My Boat: 2008 Sea Ray 205 Sport w/ Tower

leviwynnyk, Very nice!
Ya the water gets real bad by 11:00 at Grand Lake on the weekends. We went out early and I made 1 real nice raley attempt and went well. Just didn't record my first run, which was a mistake. Had a really nice run, couple back roll, one 360, tantrum, then the raley attempt. Then my next run was the disaster. _________________ _________________
