| you are not getting the pop you need for a full rotation...as far as i can tell..you need more speed in your cut, then a strong transition to open at the wake...you are opening up well...but not making it close to a w2w. |

bigger AIR! jump then flip, not flip then jump.
Practice ollie'ng 2-4 feet! _________________ _________________

wrong... the wake gives you both the pop and the rotation. ollieing is not how to practice doing tantrums. edge all the way into the wake, and square up at the top, throwing your head and shoulders straight back. The wake will trip you backwards when it pops you, and if you keep the handle in tight you'll rotate around for a tantrum _________________

He has to understand how to get UP, before he can complete a full rotation in the air. Once you understand how the ollie pops you up, using the wake to create your jump, you use that same pop to get your "lift" for your jump. They go hand in hand. _________________ _________________

If he wants to tantrum he needs a MUCH stronger/faster approach at the wake(we should be able to see the bottom of his board), then drop the back hand and square up at the wake, make sure to throw your shoulders/head back, spot your landing and finish the rotation.
I attempted my first tantrum this past weekend. What ended up happening is I fought the rotation with my upper body and the wake tripped my lower body...So I'm bent at the waist 90% and end up landing in the flats on my shoulders/head. At least I know I have the approach down, I just need to throw the spin with my head. Should have em down this weekend hopefully. |

he has to know how to jump first. Or a cartwheel across the water will be it. _________________ _________________

And knowing how to ollie isn't going to help him learn how to w2w. Everything about both jumps is completely different.
If you're ollieing off the wake when you do your jump, you're doing it wrong...
And how could he be doing a cart wheel when trying a tantrum? A front roll could be perceived as a cartwheel... |

| if u want to tanny... u need to take a wider approach, ride up the wake the square up and trip!your poping over the wake not poping off it, its a pop and backflip looking up and back... make sure u let go wit your back hand and spot your landing early... maybe pratice straight backflips on a tramp as thats what a tantrum is... good luck and gotta love that fronside edge you took! |

LOL. I am putting my foot in my mouth. I guess am not explaining myself right on this one. I'm just trying to say more height, harder progressive edge, then pop _________________ _________________

CrookedWake, you just posted something totally different that you were saying earlier. and it's not a progressive edge, it's a trip flip edge, where you change edges at the top of the wake. you must now post a video proving that you can do a tantrum, because i don't believe you can at this point in time. _________________

I'm going to say something radically different. You should take a few steps back and work on just basics for a month or two and then try tantrums again. Work on a solid w2w jump in all 4 positions (reg HS/TS, switch HS/TS) Get your 4 FS 180s in.
I guess I just feel like if you worked a bit more on you fundamentals you'd have a lot more control. *shrug* do whatever is fun though. _________________ Today is a chance to become a greater person than the person we were the day before. |
