| I'm new to wakeboarding but have been an avid white water kayaker for over 10 years paddling up to class 4 rapids, and don't take this the wrong way, expecially as I'm 37, but I've found that as I've gotten older, I'm not as willing to push the limit as much as I once was, even though I've become more capable, the recovery time, and responsibilties with either work or kids or both affect my decisions and in my mind this isn't a bad thing. |

I agree with Valhalar. I am almost 37 myself and physically I can do most everything as good or maybe better than when I was 27 or even 17. But with age I also have a better understanding as to what my limits are and what the risk vs. reward factor is. Let me put it this way as you mature you are still capable and willing to do crazy stuff but your mind gives you a better indication beforehand whether or not you can really get away with it without consequence. |

| I'm an avid dirtbike enduro rider which is, just like everything we do, all confidence. When you think about it, you're just going to wind up hurt. The best thing to do is to clear your head, get in the zone by doing some easy stuff that gets you stoked, things that you enjoy to do. Listen to your favorite jam on your ipod right before you ride. Then when you're feeling it and your enjoying yourself, throw down. Try not to think so much, have fun. That's why we do this stuff anyway isn't it? to have fun. That's my best advice; get your head out of it, just let your style leak out and let the board do the thinking, before you know it you'll be ripping again. Later. |

focus on the basics and perhaps you will get more confidence. Focus on riding all your w2w 180s and crap. Go big on them. Then maybe you won't care about trying other things either. Worth a shot _________________ Today is a chance to become a greater person than the person we were the day before. |

Wakeboarder3780, This is a good idea I took a hard fall on a tantrum about three weeks ago that really made me scared to land anything so I started with my little tricks then built up to trying tantrums again _________________ Wake Up and Wake It up |

Well said that man Ive been struggling with my head also after 2 knee injuries from tantrums ive lost my mojo on them, this being my off season all i can think is tantrum/injury,tantrum/injury.....I could take the easy way out and just not do them but I just love the look of the trick I'm obsessed with getting them locked down so I'll follow your advice _________________ A day not wasted is a day waisted... |

Last year was kind of like that for my crew, not a lot of progression, kind of scared of falling, kept doing most of the same tricks. This years I've landed a few 360's, 5 Raleys and taken a lot of good crashes trying ralesy and toe Side Front rolls. What I've realized is that even at the age of 33 the falls don't hurt as bad as you think they will, and if they do, I try to embrace the pain a bit (as per Vandals advice), it works.
But along with some of the good crashes has come a broken board which isn't the biggest treat. _________________ 2010 Watson Hybrid
