| Ive been riding a HL fluid 137 the past few summers and im looking into getting a new board. The 137 is starting to feel like it sits a bit low in the water. No chance to demo but Ive heard good about the Transcend. I'm 5'11 and 185lbs. pros and cons on 138 and 142 ? |

| I don't know a whole lot about how different boards ride, but if I had to guess I'd think the 138 would ride about the same as your 137, if they're the same type of rocker and whatnot. The cons would be that it would probably ride like your current board. The 142 should ride a little higher, and maybe a bit faster. The cons would be a bit more swing weight, but it's less than 2 inches difference. I'm a tubby guy and I ride a LF Trip 142 which is fine. My buddy is about my height but definitely under 200 lbs and he doesn't have trouble with the 142. I'd say go for the 142 and see how it works but go easy on it. Most places have a return policy so if it doesn't suit you you can go with the 138. |

Dude, I have your stats exactly and ride an 09 Transcend. I dont know if you have bought yet because I'm a little late on this but I ride a 138 and if I could go back and get the 142 I would. The 138 seems to sink with me pretty bad at anything slower than 19. Also it doesnt quite get the pop I would like. Whenever I speed up to 21-22 its perfect and I love it but its a little small for slower speeds I like for practicing new things. _________________
