Are any of the new boards out that have the slider bases on them covered under warranty after hitting a slider??? I see that LF has their grind base and Ronix has their sintered base available. Just trying to decide if its worth buying a new board with a slider base or an older closeout board without a slider base to take to the cable park.

BTB Preston, I don't think any boards are officially covered under warranty after sliding however I've heard that if there is an obvious defect early on (NOT related to you slamming the side of it in to a dock/rail or sliding something like concrete) some companies will honor some type of warranty (it is kind of luck of the draw on who you speak with though).

I've heard good things about Slingshot and LF from locals in regards to this.

If you want to save some cash, I'd take a look at some of last year's (or the year before) Slingshots. They're built to take a hit and Theres at least one or two regulars at the cable who have slingy decks over a year old. I don't suggest trying to get an LF grind series from last year as the edges of those boards tend to split after a little while.

In the end though, unless you REALLY screw up and smash a board in to a rail, any board should hold up for at least a season, likely more. Also, if a company really stands behind their product, they'll remedy any problems due to a manufacturer's defect (again, this is a case-by-case basis).
