well, since i'm not gettin much love over in the trick tips I figured I'd post here (since I don't need any more tips for it).
Stuck the backside 180 twice today! Landed it once a couple weeks ago and this weekend was my first time riding again. I must have tried about 20 a day all weekend and finally was able to get 2 today. I was way more pumped today than the first time I landed it because it was kind of like an "in your face!" type feeling when I landed them after falling so much over the weekend.
I had been struggling either washing out/casing the wake or getting off axis/not getting the handle to the small of my back. So I made a thread asking for help and a little video of the 2 main problems I was having.. and the 2 I landed once I got those on footy today.
Just wanted to share and say that I LOVE Wakeboarding!!

| Nice man, you spin late. Thats good. A lot of people have a hard time with that and overrotate. One thing that I think might help you get it consistent and also for taking it to 3, is to try to get your shoulders more into the spin. Everyone says land over your toes, but usually dont say how. If you really dip your left shoulder down as you turn the handle down to pass, thatll help you get the entire spin over your toes without just throwing your body off axis. Try to think about pushing/dipping that left shoulder down and looking down and to the right. Also its ok to break at the waist just a little bit. If you push your hips out in front of you like you normally would in wakeboarding, thats gonna force the handle out and land straight on your heels. Hope that makes sense. Definitely go for the 3! I think its easier than the 180 |

Try to land wrapped (still with your hand blind) and then do an ollie 180 back to unwrap it, gives you a nice style... Also try bend you knees once in the air, it looks cooler and gives you time to grab once youre ready for it.
Nice trick!!!! Congrats _________________

Medina, I would love to, but I'm terrible a switch ollies I might try a few and see how that goes. I'll also try to pick up my knees a little, like I said I'd love to grab it indy and also stale with the late bs 180.. that's definitely one of my favorite tricks in wakeboarding.
LFADAM, Thanks man that definitely makes sense, and I'm sure that the more I do them the easier they'll get. I had washing out problems on my fs 180's and it's funny to think how easy they now are for me compared to when I first tried them.
slidin_out, thanks man, good luck!
HHI Dave, thanks a lot, I was actually surprised I landed the second one since I waited so long to rotate _________________ Wake Forest University |
