Ok we just got a Malibu Skier and it puts out a good wake. So no problem there. but it only has a short ski pole. So far I guess this works, but its a little hard to get up. How much would a tower help, what is the average price and whats a good brand. Please Help thanks. _________________ Pulling fat people out of the water is fun...I get to use my engine. |

As far as OEM towers for Malibus go, Titan seems to have the best overall reputation - they're strong, rigid, don't rattle, & fold down very easily. To get one installed through a Malibu dealer you're looking at around $2000 (at least). The swoop style towers (the more traditional style) you may be able to get cheaper (probably $500ish cheaper), but they do tend to have more problems with rattles & none of them fold down as easy as the Titan. The other option is a universal tower, like Monster Tower (seems to have a good reputation). You can get one of those for $1000 delivered & it's a DIY project (but it is a universal tower & I'm always a little suspicious of a product that claims a "universal fit").
Make sure that you check with your Malibu dealer about how easy/difficult it will be to fit a tower to your boat. Some of the older boats need reinforcement at the installation points because the hulls weren't designed with a tower in mind. Just my .02 cents... |

Thanks gusthecat for the advice. I think I will look into the Monster, I have heard some good stuff about them. If anybody else has anything to say, please say it. _________________ Pulling fat people out of the water is fun...I get to use my engine. |

I put a monster on my Supra this weekend. I know it isn't a Malibu, but the universal fit issue is not a problem for the monster tower. the legs can swivel in or out to accomidate any width boat. Once you get them where you want them, you tighten down the bolts and the tower is very sturdy and 100% quiet. It is way cheaper than the other ones so you can spend your saved $ on gas or other cool stuff.
email or PM me if you have any other ?s. _________________ 1989 Supra Comp TS6M, 06 GLI for haulin'.

| Tower Works Fabrication makes some nice towers and they do the install too. You can check them out at http://www.towerworkfabrication.com/ They are in Northridge (north of LA) and make custom towers and accessories. |

We sincerely appreciate the nice comments. gusthecat has a great point that many of the "universal" towers had made that word a bad name, and for good reason. People experienced problems with them and have a understandable bias. I have one in my basement that was so bad when I took it out of the box I would not put it on my boat. It's still in my basement and is part of the reason Monster Tower exists today.
If you have a brand new $40-50K wakeboard boat you need to seriously consider the OEM tower that can be factory installed. Yes, you'll pay way over "market value" but there are warranty and support issues to factor in. The universal tower market was created becuase those of us with older boats or boats there was not a factory option for a tower still wanted a tower.
There is also rumors some unsaid "universal" tower may be making inroads in the OEM market but you did'nt hear that from me

| I had a sighting of a Monster Tower for the first time here in Park City, UT. It was on an older Supra, it looked really good on it. I wish you guys were around a year ago. |
