Hi Guys,
Havent been on here in a good while, but decided to have a lurk about again. I think this is my 3rd summer of wakeboarding now, but feel like I am not making much progress. Only been out on the water twice this year so far, and I am trying to get the HS W2W nailed, working on TS 180 over one wake, and riding switch. I would like to try a switch HS jump once i get more comfortable on switch.
As an estimate of how much I ride, Id say last year we got out 15 times max, where I would do 2 sets of about 20 mins each. The question is, is this enough to make good progress? Or am I just slow at picking it up?
As I am from Northern Ireland, the weather doesnt lend very well to getting out a lot, but I guess most of you are from America, and can get out a lot more often.
What do you guys think? |

yeah you need more time behind the boat, like this dude above me I try to ride at least one afternoon after work during the and then Saturday and Sunday, two sets every time I go out to ride at least, sometimes 3 or 4 sets on the weekends each day, been riding about 3-4 times a week since April, making some good progress this year _________________ Lithic, LLC, my biz

I know what you mean guys, I would love to get out more, but the weather here, and the fact that I only get out with my wifes family means that i am restricted to the amount of time I have on the water. For example, I havent been out in 2 weeks now, and will prob be next weekend before I get out.
Its a pity as I love wakeboarding, and would go out every day if I could. I guess I will just have to be content with having fun when I do get out, and try to push myself more when I do board, which I probably dont do enough either.
Thanks for the replies. |

Practice on a trampoline while off the water, its a great way to develop handle control _________________ Lake Shelbyville, IL |

Dont worry about it so much! Ride as often as you can and are able to, just remember to have fun every time you ride! Thats what is most important in my eyes! Sure progression is good and with progression comes alot of fun, but dont worry about it and have fun and you will have a way better time riding in my eyes! _________________ Its hard to explain to the average person, why we risk breaking every bone in our body, but you know what, thats what makes our sport so bad ass.-Brian Deegan |

I do have fun any time I am out. I just find it frustrating that I cant get out as much as I want to. For example, it is now going on for a month since I was last on the water
I have been looking for clubs near me, and found a couple within an hour of me, so I might look at getting a ride there sometime, only problem is its quite expensive - £30 for a half hour set, which would equate to > $50. But hey ho it would be worth it to get out behind a mastercraft which I have never done before.
Think I should emigrate to the states then I would have no problems lol. |

| Just imagine the chick in intotheflats avatar pic is riding in your boat watching you. I promise - you'll invert in no time. |

Progression in wakeboarding is a matter of repetition and muscle memory. Both are only become possible by regular riding. If this isn't possible for you, then you should just enjoy the sets as they come and make the best of it. _________________ Hilton Head Wake Sports.com
