Speaking of weighting an X-star... anyone have configurations that are ideal?
Holds, grats man, got to experience that exact same feeling earlier this season |

Thanks guys! I'm pumped!
Yep, somewhere in the SLC area. My dad really liked the color and plus it has the big 8.1L motor, so it's gonna be beast. Definitely a huge step up from the X-30.
Weighting-wise, my dad isn't letting me install pro series ballast...yet. We do have 2-440lb bags to throw in the rear storage and 1-540lb bag for the bow walkway so that will do for now. I'll eventually talk him into the pro series but it probably won't be until next year. Summer 2012, it's mine though He told me once I graduate, I have to come up with a payment plan to buy it so he can get a nice new(ish) ProStar. |

If it looks like this in the water, your weight is set really well

holdsworth, sounds like you may be locked in to what ballast you will be using, but a configuration that works really well in my friends Xstar is
540 on either side of the engine
440s under each of the front side seats (cant completely fill them due to space)
Optional-725 in the walk through if there are not too many people in the boat
Thats about all it can handle (thats the MCX 350 though). Huge wake |

| I might get another 250lb bag from a guy I live with and throw it somewhere to make it even but we shall see. Anything will work for me, I can work with whatever haha. |

Yeah, I'm in the process of trying to plumb in 4 350lb bags (2 back 2 front) and I'm itching to run a 440 in the walk through too. I worry running the extra bag up front will make the wake even more mellow even if it is bigger.
Sure seemed like the 4x350's were tough on the boat though and we're running the 8.1 as well. The boat wasn't propped correctly though so that might make a difference. |
