Well, first comp of the year, I was throwing down a nice set, lights out, came to my next to last tricks, sw tanny, took it a little big and out into the flats, landed right ontop of my board, however, when I did blew out my ACL.. Im super bummed... I was really feeling the progression this year, just coming off sticking my whirly and stuff.. I got an appointment to meet with the surgeon monday, hopefully we can schedule the surgery soon after. By the way, I just started wearing a CTI on that knee this year _________________ www.blackwaterrydas.com |

Man, really sorry to hear that. From the high of hitting the whirly to the end of the season. Super weak.
Good luck with recovery! Keep at it, my cousin slacked off and it took him 3 years to get back to 100%. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

Damn dude, were you wearing your brace during the comp??? If not, you basically just answered what went wrong right there. Those braces can be an angel and a devil at the same time. They give you great support except weaken the sh*t out of your knee making it really prone to injury when riding without it. I have a Don Joy that I will throw on sometimes if it is starting to get tender again, but otherwise I hate riding with that brace on. They are so protective that it feels like it is restricting me on the water and also putting to much force on my good knee which is far from good and at times worse. I've just never had an MRI on the "good" knee so basically by not knowing what is wrong with it, it remains my healthy knee instead of just being a cripple lol. Well now at least you get to upgrade from CTI to one of the big boys. There really is a huge difference in the custom fit braces and insurance covers them so you might as well go for the gold. _________________ Liquid Force
