Why is it frowned upon in the first place? I work a steady, demanding, 10 hour/day job from mon to sat and never feel like going out, so I end up sitting on the computer drinking by mylself until I get tired. I am still fairly young, but a few years into legal drinking. My family worry I am becoming dependent because I have a few drinks alone later at night and sit on the computer. I believe it to be caused by a discrepency in age, go back to the 70s when my parents were my age. They compare new age drinking to what they experienced in the old days. This is more of a humorous rant because I am up enjoying a rum and coke looking for things to discuss. I am curious to other opinions, I like to have a few and relax by myself, its the only time I can stay up all week since my job starts at 5am. Oh well, ADAC here I come..... _________________ well, i did have over 800 posts.. formerly natman |

I dont necessarily see why its frowned upon either. Under those circumstances that you just stated it seems perfectly acceptable to me. I love kicking back with a few by myself every once in awhile, its just another aspect to enjoy. _________________ 93 four winns

i agree completely. but their is a point where its to far. if your killing a 5th in a sitting, you need to re think your motives. _________________ trying to find a $5-7K usable saltare if anyone knows of one. |

I agree with all of you, I could easily drink most of a 6 pack of a nice beer while killing a chill night at home. Movies, video games, internet, reading, TV... and a nice beer? Thank you please. _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

I've been doing that for years, stop and grab a 6 after work. More often then not someone will drop by to hang out. If not, I'll sit and drink by myself. I don't see anything wrong with it as long as it doesn't have any negative impact on your life. IE; not going to work, paying bills, poor work performance, ect. ect. _________________

| Almost 100% sure I will have a drink tonight after the Little Man's game.... Michelle is working, if the Terrorist is there does that count as not drinking alone? |

Broccoli B, do you ever beat him? he looks bruised!
any way, i had a few beers last night by myself. sometimes i like to work on stuff in the garage, on the boat while i have a few. its relaxing to not have mindless beer drinking chatter. |

I just got done putting my boat away, and found 10 beers left over in the cooler. Looks like it'll be a solo drinking night for me. After 3 days of, boat issues(new battery, and 2 new trailer tires), dealing with people that are stupid enough to think I'm going to text them directions to the lake, choppy crap water, ECT. ECT. ECT. Those 10 beers are gold. _________________
