| the 2 most common injuries have to be concussions or knee problems.. quite a few people mess up there knees. so if you have a bad knee i suggest get a knee brace.. helment is your choice.. if u have had a bad fall before then it might not be a bad a idea but most people behinde the boat usually dont wear one.. just ur call.. |

Tore my ACL and strained MCL on right knee and strained ACL on left.
When I'm learning any type of spin where you can catch an edge and raleys I will throw on my helmet and I also wear a hockey mouth guard, my buddy caught a toe edge last year and chipped his front tooth. _________________ Whenever I see an $80,000 Wakesetter pulling a tuber, I die a little inside. |

The only serious injury I had was a chipped bone in my heal from a huge double up. I've seen worse though. I had a friend end up with 12 stitches in his chin from a raley gone bad and saw another friend end up with a concussion.
As far as a helmet, unless your going to be hitting objects like sliders, I woudlnt wear one but thats just me. _________________ Does this rag smell like chloroform?

Ball busters doing anything suck!! I slipped out on a HS W2W last weekend and mashed the boys hard enough to make me puke. The lake enema that went with it wasn't to pleasant either _________________

| I had a good portion of the skin on my heal ripped off. The only thing I can figure is one of my binding strings got wedged in behind my heal then did it damage when I came out of the binding. I wore sandals for the next couple months and didnt even look at the wakeboard. |

| I've dislocated my shoulder, fractured a foot, got a concussion, and busted an eardrum and I'm only in my second season. Right now I'm working on getting the shoulder dislocation consistent and have a goal to nail down an ACL or MCL by the end of the summer! |

I broke my face.... Broke 3 bones. Cheek bone, eye socket and some other one next to my nose... And ruptured my nasal cavity and needed 15 stitches! Fun day! Just a HS w2w.. I think the board hit me in the face but i dont remember!
Worst ive seen/been in, other than that its just been bruises and headaches! _________________ Its hard to explain to the average person, why we risk breaking every bone in our body, but you know what, thats what makes our sport so bad ass.-Brian Deegan |

You certainly don't have to be doing big air or complex tricks to get injuries, just getting something slightly wrong and catching an edge will do it.
Here's my list:
Black eyes, concussion, split lip, teeth through bottom lip, split eyelid (that one is really gross), bruised ribs.
There's different schools of thought on using helmets, personally I go for the thinking that unless you're using kickers and sliders, they actually do more harm than good when you hit just the water, as there's a bigger surface area and you get almost a double impact.
Just toughen up yer noggin'! _________________ Suck it up and get hardcore! |

I think you can pull off just about any injury while wakeboarding. My most interesting injury was a torn retina from a faceslap. _________________ WakeSurf and Wakesurfing News |

My son split his head open this year already. Board never left his feet. If he'd had a helmet on, that wouldn't have happened... _________________ lovin' life! |

Ouch - I have TWO friends that have done exactly that - must have been very flexible to achieve it. _________________ Suck it up and get hardcore! |
