Alright so very progressive weekend, got out 5 times on saturday and my jumps were much higher and farther than last year which really got me pumped, learned my 1 wake 180s and indys and tailgrabs. The progression really got to me and pushed me hard the day after(today). i cut much harder and landed right on the edge of the opposite wake, not quite w2w but close. problem is, every-time I land, my front leg hits the water HARD.
I bend my legs but it doesn't help much.
Is this just a harder landing than actually landing on the wake?
Or could it just be overuse? (I've been wakeboarding 4-5 times every saturday and sunday, so that's definitely a possibility)
(To clarify, i'm not falling, it's just my legs feel like im hitting concrete)

Casing the wake like that is killer and sucks. Either speed the boat up or edge in harder.

Ya hitting the waking like that does suck. Nothing you can really do to help absorb the impact. Just try and get over it. Nothing like riding down the other side of the wake.

When you land on w2w right, you'll know. It just feels buttery smooth. Landing JUST before w2w really sucks though, it's super hard and, as you said, feels like concrete. Even landing in the flats feels nicer then casing the wake. Just give it a little extra, the first time you land it it feels so...right. that's the only way I can describe it really:P

Landing on top of the opposide wake is probably the worst place to land. Definitely the hardest spot too (even if you overshoot in to the flats, that's still smother than casing it).

Edge harder!

You could shorten the rope...

I messed up my knee last summer because I lengthened the line and cased the wake hard.. You just need to go balls out and edge in like you have nothing to lose. Start overshooting and work your way in from there. Trust me, there is nothing worse than ruining your whole summer of boarding because you were trying NOT to get hurt.

If you are trying to land two handed try it one handed. I find that you stand taller off the wake if you jump and then let go with your back hand. This will help you make it across the wake because you get higher, works for me, might work for you

I'm convinced that once you have your basics down, learning a new trick is 90% confidence.
