Any suggestions on a way I can get practice riding switch out of the water? Would a skateboard be the best way? I can get turned but I always seem to lose it just because of my balance.

I just started wakeboarding and have been working on getting good at riding switch...What helped me the most was paying attention to how I distribute my weight on my back leg when I am riding regular and then mimicking that with the opposite leg after I switch. Also, having just one hand on the handle helps keep your body from wanting to turn back.
Another thing I did at home... was ride my longboard(skateboard) switch. This felt awkward because I was pushing off with my weaker leg but def helped.
Good luck! =D

best way to learn switch is to get up switch everytime you ride. get up switch and ride thefirst 30 seconds switch doing carve drills, and later SW TS and HS jumps.
then 180 to regular foot, and start you run.

Slide on a wooden floor in your socks... but switch!

A skateboard is pretty good as well.

I am new to wakeboarding and wondering the same thing. I was thinking about buying a balance board and take an extral handle and conect it to something solid. Then in a switch stance holding the handle try to get in the carving position. Do you think this would help??

I think that any way you use a balance board will be helpful to a board sport in all manners. I'd just orient your body in a way that is similar to your switch wake stance and that should give the mental/muscle connection. I've never tried a handle on a balance board, so it might work.

get a rope and handle, tie it to your buddy's lawnmower, hop a skateboard in switch stance and have him pull you around the neighbor, remember to keep the rope at your lead hip, that is about the hardest thing to remember to do riding switch on the water
