I started wakeboarding towards the end of last summer and fell in love with it. This weekend I installed a DIY tower on my I/O. I don't jump or do any other tricks YET (just bought the "book"), I am just wondering how different is the pull going to feel from tower. Not worried about getting up I do that fine, just wondering if the pull feels different while doing the basics?

As far as the "Basics" go.... I found it much easier to get up.... and by easy, I mean less effort because the boat is pulling you up not down... Thats about it...

depending on what size your I/O is... its also fun to take HARD cuts into the flats and pull the boat around.

That was the main thing I noticed about having a tower, a lot less fatigue on my shoulders, upper back and arms from pulling up. I do think it helped a little bit with my airs, not sure though. The year I put my tower on I watched the book over and over all winter, so some place between those 2 things really helped my riding. I'm also pretty sure it helps surface slides, the higher tow point makes it easier to blow the fins out.

It won't feel that different at all. I didn't even notice any difference when going from a low tow point to a high one. If you already know how to get up it won't feel very different to you at all.
