Riding behind a wakesetter that is.

My god, I have been behind only a few boats in the last year or so since I've gotten mildly serious about wakeboarding. Primarily, a Mastercraft 195 with serious ballast, an older Ski Sanger, and my buddies 2006 X45. All of them produce a wake that is suitable for wakeboarding, but I really had no basis for comparing them.

Until today. Bubb Rubb. Riding behind a wakesetter is like cheating, the thing threw such a nice smooth rampy wake, it was impossible not to look good. I can't imagine if I got more riding time behind one. You have so much more time in the air because getting vertical is easier. It was actually a little weird at first, because I'm used to not having much time to do stuff or think, just land.

Remind me to find $30k for one.

I want to ride behind an Axis now. :/

I trade pulls with a good friend of mine between my family's 08 VLX and his 06 centurion avalanche and I don't want this sounding conceited but our stock wake with no ballast blows his away. And what you said with the ramp, the shape of it is awesome. I've only ridden behind a few boats since I've gotten more comfortable wakeboarding but I've never ridden behind anything better. I hope when I'm older I can buy the boat off my family or find another VLX to have all my own. We will see..

I'm a huge MC guy but the VLX does throw a sick wake with only ballast (LOTS), no wedge.

I really wish I knew someone that had one in the area so I could get behind one..haha..most of the people around here that have them are 20 years older than me..and come to think of it..I don't know that I have seen many Malibus on the lake..plenty of SAN's, mastercrafts, centurions..

I wanna get behind any wakeboat and see what its like..lol

We had the wedge down and about 5 people on board. 2 people in the bow.

All I'm saying is its a world of difference when you have a ramp that puts you UP and over, instead of mostly over. Smile

This is the first time I've owned a boat...I've only been behind a jet ski and then a random outboard (can't even remember).

I have 2000 lbs of ballast in my Vride...I let out the back ballast and intended to go with just the 500 center...FORGOT the wedge was down. The ramps on the wake put a motocross (actually mini-moto) track to shame.

I'm having to go back to the basics.
