If you could have any wakeboarding sponsor, who would it be?

So if you had the choice to be sponsored by any company involved in wakeboarding ie clothing, sunglasses, boards, boats etc who would you choose? This is intended for realistic companies like billabong, oakley, red bull and whoever else.

My initial instinct would be to immediately blurt out Red Bull. They hook their riders up with first class treatment around the world, and the sheer act of just wearing one of their hats in a bar in orlando or southern california immediately attracts the hottest surfer/boarder chicks. And then I saw this article and changed my mind...

Going on a vacation and photo shoots with Reef girls just takes the cake. They also happen to have pretty good clothes, boardies, and obviously sandals.

I don't think Red Bull hat and Affliction shirt exactly fit into the same genre of people. Affliction shirt wearers are the Jersey Shore roid guy type. I don't think you would ever see a surfer or wakeboarder kid in an affliction shirt. At least I really hope not.

There's quite a few that I would really love to have... Mastercraft, Ronix, Fox, Billabong, Oakley... and a few more. My ultimate sponsor would probably have to be Red Bull. I'd want it because of both wakeboarding and flying. Wakeboarding because I love how they push every sport they sponsor to the next level and beyond and how well they back up their riders and make their ideas become reality, no matter how crazy. To my next one, flying, I would love to have them because of Red Bull Air Race. I'd like to start doing aerobatics sometime in the next year or so, and I really want to get serious with it and do airshows as a hobby and work as an engineer for an aerobatic aircraft company. My ultimate goal in life, eventually after I've gained enough experience and achieved a few of my aerobatics flying goals, is to be a pilot in the Red Bull Air Race. The thrill of flying that low, that fast, and that precise would really set my adrenaline off to just go wild. I try not to break the law right now in my C150 by flying low, but every time I fly I just want to get as close as I can to the ground and be on the edge of my seat while flying, and doing it in such a beautiful and orchestrated manner as the Red Bull Air Race would make me die a happy man...

So, for me, Red Bull because they give me wiiiiiiings Smile

I think it'd be really cool to be professional with no sponsors. Screw clothing obligations.

I'm kind of intrigued by this "surf scene" thing though. Like how the hell does a girl know if a guy is a real surfer just because he has a hat on, how do you know it's not just Spicolli or something? I go out in Encinitas (pretty much surf city, USA) all the time, and I've yet to see a dude you can tell actually surfs/skates wearing an energy drink cap. Billabong and O'Neil sometimes, but most of them have too much hair for hats anyway. Red Bull is more an FMX/wakeboarder/bench press hero kind of thing...not really surf culture.

...but I wear Oakleys because Gas Cans are the only shades that frame my wide ass head, so what the hell do I know. Tell you what, the first girl I see randomly walking up to a dude in a Red Bull hat and commenting on the hat, I will send Kyle $5000, no questions asked.

ontrider and usm you head out to a bar in new Smyrna beach or Orlando as a sponsored red bull athlete with the hat on, you are leaving with a very hot chick. Yes people can get fakes of the red bull hats but generally the fakes look pretty fake and it will most likely get ripped off your head at some point during the night just for being a tool. But to be a real red bull rider, the chicks that are into the sport now see you as the challene to
hook up with and the rich girls like winterpark rollins girls see you as "Ryan scheckler" and basically you are just a check off their list for them. They will want to take pictures with the hat, take pictures with you, take pictures of you wearing the hat basically doing all of the work.
