just curious exactly how much of a difference it is between a progressive 3 stage rocker vs. a aggressive 3 stage rocker

and whats the noticeable difference between the abrupt continuous rocker vs. subtle continuous rocker

had a couple people ask me and i really didnt know what to say other than a aggressive pops harder off the wake, and i thought that the abrupt continuous rocker had a little bit more pop. am i wrong?

just curious..

More rocker is usually going to mean a more abrupt release off the wake (what a lot of people like to call "pop" but I hate that word cause people think it means you jump higher). So abrupt continuous will have more drag on the water with a more abrupt release.

Staged rockers take this to another level. They are designed to intentionally create drag so when you leave the wake it's even more abrupt. Progressive is like a 3-stage blended with a continuous. While you won't be able to see a true flat spot in the middle and an pronounced kick in the tip and tail, it will still have a flatter rocker pattern in between the boots and a higher degree of rocker as you get closer to the tips. This just smoothes out the behavior of the board, giving you more fluid edge to edge transitions and a more controllable release.

Aggressive 3 stage will have a pronounced flat spot in the center with a noticeable kick up towards the tip and tail. They leave the wake very abruptly, but can be kind of tricky because you have to ride them the way they want to be ridden in order to get that abrupt pop every time.

LakeIolaLuke, that's probably the best explanation I've ever heard on the subject. All I know is that I don't like true 3-stages, and I don't like true continuous rockers.
