This isn't a topic about not being able to do it, I have an entirely different problem. My toeside W2W is ''bigger'' then my heelside. People on the boat tell me I get MUCH higher on my toeside jumps then heelside.

Obviously I'm trying to pop at the wrong time on my heelside. WHen would you all say is time to start standing tall. as the wake starts to curl? once the board starts going up the wake?

I was experiments with one wake jumps and I can't seem to find that spot heelside.

Be sure to take a solid progressive edge. Start so slow that it's just the boat pulling you in towards the wake at first, and then accelerate all the way through the very top. Often on a HS wake jump, people can just turn and go, and probably clear it, but height comes from the edge. Make sure that you are going the fastest of your cut at the very top of the wake. It doesn't even have to be a super high speed, just lots of acceleration.

Then from there, if you be sure to "stand tall" right at the bottom of the wake (picture standing up from a squat position versus trying to jump out of it). This ensures that your legs are strong, but not absorbing any of the wake's energy. But, if you try to spring off of the wake, like one would jump up off of ground, you'll be doing a faceplant.

Keep at it, and it'll come through with more time paying attention to the mechanics of what works and what doesn't each time you go out.

I do understand a how to do a good progressive edge. Maybe I'm just not holding the edge through the wake enough.

I really want to hold off on getting into too many tricks beyond grabs and a couple 1880's till I have a really consistant poppy heelside

Sorry, I don't mean to talk down if you know what the techniques are. Sometimes I can't tell what the experience level is based on the question.

To directly answer your specific question, I find that it's right in the trough of the wake that I start to stand tall. But I don't know when exactly I go for that extra bit of pop in the final extension of my legs.
