|
|
I bought a handle maybe a month ago and have ridden it about 2 times a week. The grip where my hands usually go seems to have become "smashed" or torn under the leather outside part. Basically it feels like there is absolutely no cushion underneath it anymore and I'm holding onto an aluminum tube with a super thin piece of leather over it.
Basically I'm super p*ssed. I have bought the cheapest handles I could find prior to this and the grips hold up for 2 years. wtf is up with this? I'll post pics on Sunday (have to run now). You can actually see how mashed the grip is just from looking at it.
I'm pretty sure I'm calling up LF on this as I'm really frustrated, but I just wanted to know if anyone else has had similar issues?

I haven't had any of these issues, but I have certainly seen them happen to some handles. LF is usually pretty helpful with stuff like this I think, but if they aren't then you could always do the tennis/hockey tape over the handle, it's really comfy.
Or, if LF falls through and you are looking for something else, I'd suggest a Helium handle, I'm on my 3rd season on mine now and it's still lookin great. Great handles too.

I'll probably call them up sometime this week. Here are images of both sides you can literally see how there is no rubber where my hands usually are. I've ridden this handle for one month

I'll remember that for next time. I'll see what LF does with it though, maybe the replacement handle will be so amazing that I won't need it though

yeah, hopefully you just had a bum handle. I know that this is a relatively common issue in many brands of handles that are a similar style to this one. Doesn't mean that it shouldn't work. And it especially should still be working after only a month, that is BS.

yep this has always been the downfall of leather grip handles. Every brand has that problem. If you are looking for something more durable you need to get away from leather grip. Mine last a little longer, but I have gone through a Proline LG handle every year since they came out.
I will probably give this handle a try next year- http://www.boardstop.com/product_info.php?cPath=67_55_145&products_id=4175

ok thanks for the info guys. It's a shame because the handle seriously was super comfy, until this happened. I'm going to go back to the traditional EVA foam style ones, looks like LF has a couple of that style, I'll tell em I want out of this leather grip crap

| I have a leather-grip RONIX handle that I love. It's called the 'North' I think.

wtf I was going to ask them to get me one of those instead because it's foam, how can you mess up foam? Now I'm really starting to get nervous here..
