|
|
| Hello all, I just got bit by the bug and have only been out a couple times. The problem I am having is that after just a couple rides around the lake the outside edge and the inside edge of my feet are in a lot of pain, almost cramping. I'm using bindings that are supposed to fit 10-12 or is what I was told. I wear an 11 shoe size, is there maybe a size issue or more like a balance weight placement issue? Thank you in advance for any advice. |

What bindings are you using, and how is your board set up? _________________

There are a few things I can think of.
1) Even if you have the correct sized bindings, if you cinch the laces down too tight, your feet are going to hurt. Make sure you aren't hulking out when you cinch your laces down.
2) If you don't "duck out" your bindings, foot pain can occur. Make sure your toes aren't pointing straight forward on the board, but that each toe is pointing to the nose (or tail, whichever is closest to the binding, point the toe that way).
3) It's possible that you have a binding that is more suited for a narrow foot and perhaps you have a wider foot. I was just reading a review of a binding the other day were people were complaining that it's for narrow footed people.
4) Depending on your diet and water temperature, you may just have temperamental feet. I am prone to foot cramps when doing water sports and have been since I was a kid. Things like eating more potassium and sodium can help you out there, and cold water will be worse for feet than warmer water.
My recommendation is to take the bindings out for another ride and assuming you have laces on them, try to not tighten the laces as much as you usually do, heck even try them a little too loose and see if you're still getting discomfort.
If you don't mind my asking what model binding are you wearing? _________________ Today is a chance to become a greater person than the person we were the day before. |

| Not sure, only been out 2 times and used a buddies board. I just know it hurt when i got out of the water. It's a lot of fun and I plan to buy a board but was just curious as to what could be causing it. |

Cool, just go easy on tightening the laces and see what happens. It sounds stupid, but I overtightened my bindings for a long time and even thought I needed bigger bindings. Then I stopped pulling the laces as hard as I could _________________ Today is a chance to become a greater person than the person we were the day before. |

| Thank you for the advice. I will check the angle of the bindings and check the strength of the laces. |

IF you have wide feet, that'll definitely do it. I used to ride Hyperlite bindings, and because of my fat feet, they would literally pinch the outsides of my right foot and my toes! I couldn't feel my feet after 2 minutes on the water.
Needless to say, make sure your bindings are comfortable. The Ronix One boots I have fit my feet perfectly, and I can already tell that they don't have the same deathgrip on my foot as the hyperlites did. |
