Just wondering what the most random injuries people have incured from the amazing sport that is Wakeboarding:
Personal best was when I landed smack on the side of my head and messed up my balance ROYALLY
Essentially every time I bent down I would actually fall over, tieing shoes picking anything up, made for some great entertainment for those around me! Also in the first few days you know that feeling when ur pissed and the room starts spining, well all through the night whenever I turned over in bed, it would wake me up as it literally felt like I had spent to much time on a merry go round. Very commical for a while, but then it just got plain annoying.
Over to you guys _________________ Live Life, Ride Hard, Rock On! |

Torn abdominal a couple of years ago. Actually looked much worse than it was.
Also have dislocated my shoulder and sprained my ankle on hard falls.
If it was easy being hard core, everyone would be. _________________ Hilton Head Wake Sports.com

I'm pretty sure I've sprained my ankle. I took one good spill last year where the board ripped off and hit my shin. from right below the knee down to my foot was a bloody mess. I broke the board too. good times, good times.
Other then that I haven't had anything really bad. lol, I did hurt my sister though. we were tied to the back of the boat and she was just learning how to board. I was sitting on the back of the boat and I reached over and yanked on the rope really hard annnnnnd faceplant. lmao. |

y'all will like this one...
I guess I was about 14 at the time, but I was riding double with my uncle, in his 40's. Well, he kept spraying me and I was getting pissed, so I finally decided "I'll cut really hard at him and just him!" Bad move! I never even touched him, and somehow my nuts landed so hard on the wake that I just about passed out. Coiuldn't walk for a day or 2, and still have one hangin funny, ~20 years later!!! Oh boy, should I have told anyone about this?...
My son just split the TOP his head open adn needed 3 staples last month, and the board never came off his feet! Didn't even realize he did it, no big knot or anything.... _________________ lovin' life! |

I've twisted my knee, screwed my shoulder up, bruised a couple ribs and more then my share of faceplants, water enemas and ball busters, nothing to serious. The worst by far was last summer my buddy smacked the water so hard he busted an ear drum, was kind of funny, sounded like a rifle shot when he hit. I knew it was gonna be bad when I could hear the smack from the boat with the stereo on _________________

| Buddy of mine broke his leg about 3" above the ankle. Have no idea how. It was a simple (and ugly) wake jump and he came down on it weird. Maybe his foot/ankle was tweaked in the boot and when he landed it rolled. Have no idea but he's blaming his 2008 Watson boots for being too stiff instead of realizing he sucks at wakeboarding. |

The worst injuries i have seen happen to other people are.
1: a buddy trying to do a 540, and got all sideways in the rotation. landed really bad, and he was just screaming. he ripped his achilles heel, when his foot got ripped out of the binding. the foot was just pointing strait up along the leg, on of the most sickening things i have seen.
2: an guy at a local danish comp. that crashed on some kind of flip ( cant remember which kind) and broke his leg clean and open on the shin just above the bindings. right up there as of things that look really narly.
the guy with the heel is not riding anymore.
but the broken leg guy is still charging. |

I had a bad fall on a simple TS 180 last year...face plant...still don't remember anything that had happened for 2 hours after the fall. Really scared me...
And my Back Roll attempts - always end up landing on my chest. Gave up now as I think if I keep going I'll rapture my lungs |

My worst fall was coming back up from the water and opening my eyes and seeing nothing but black. Then funny colors started racing around and the picture came back. Basically I slammed my occipital lobe and saw some stars, no big deal. But it scared me away from 360s for a few years.
That torn abdominal looks craazy. _________________ Today is a chance to become a greater person than the person we were the day before. |

several years ago had a friend snap his femur on his version of a tantrum, as for me got a pulled muscle in my calf right now, in the past had the board edge smack my shin so hard i was sure it was broken, last weekend took the edge of a wakeskate to the nads on my second shov-it attempt ever (first time on a skate), pulled an ab muscle once too and it was by far the most annoying one of all, had to make calculated movements on everything i did for a few weeks _________________ Lithic, LLC, my biz
