Hi Guys, I've been working on my tantrums for a long time now but I still can't land them. I kinda know what I'm doing wrong (pop too early, throw my back arm etc)...
The problem is that the whole flip is so fast...so I keep telling myself keep the front elbow in, extend on top of the wake, knees bent in the air to speed up the rotation...blah blah blah...but it doesn't work

Also look at your arm (one with the handle) throughout the roatation. Its not in the right place at all. Watch your video, and then watch mine and see the difference.

I watched yours at :41secs and when you do your tantrums, do you ever "extend/straighten" your knees at the wake and get pop before you flip? I'm assuming.
When I watched Vera video, she was going really slow into it and had no height to clear the flip, so do you have to come in with a crazy progressive cut or can you have an inbetween?

| I think you need to square your shoulders more to the wake. Also, you look like you are taking it to blind in the third attempt at 10 sec. Were you trying or did you overrotate? Keep working though, your much closer than I have ever been. Looks pretty close. |

Thanks for your support guys!!!
mobywake - I've been trying HS backrolls for some time now...but they just hurt so much if you under rotate so I've decided to give them a break. I think I wasn't going fast enough, so I'd land on my chest everytime and would be left breathless  My only advice is - really commit to backrolls!!!
SexyWS6Mama - you have to go in with a strong progressive edge and I've been told by people in the boat that I was not going fast enough...so you do have to have plenty of speed for this trick and you do have to extend on top of the wake to get some hight.
Also, it doesn't have to be a trip-flip trick. A french friend of mine flips while still on edge and goes HUGE.
mgs917 - I don't even think about doing it to blind!!! It just happens maybe I should just go for a tantrum to blind??? I think my back arm goes across and that's what makes me spin around instead of up? |
