I was looking back on some old videos today and noticed I really haven't gotten much better in the last 5 years trick wise. Here's a video from 5 years ago.

http://www.wakepics.com/video/17502/05-season-low-video-quality

And here's one from this year.

My tricks off the wake are basically the same. I've learned a couple tricks here and there, some of which aren't in either of these videos but for the most part I have the same bag of tricks as 5 years ago. Am I the only one like this?

I feel like I may be at some point...

But each year I look more and more comfortable. This year I especially have improved my air awareness and ability to poke. Yesterday I did a tail grab and just yanked my bak leg up as i poked out my lead leg and it was the coolest grab i've ever done. 2 years ago my surf carving looked pretty robotic but now everything is just so much more fluid.

Last year the only new trick I learned was an inside out backside 180 (but i was really hindered with a knee injury mid june). This year I already have poked some new grabs and started taking my backside spins off the wake and am pretty close to the bs 180, then the 3 next.

But for the most part i've been doing fs 180's and grabs the past 2 years with nothing new. Hopefully that will change very shortly..

Ha I'm definitely in the same boat, I've actually lost a few that I used to do (HS Mobe, TS Roll 2 Blind, Whirly, and Tootsie). I've recently told myself I'm going to improve and start doing new advanced tricks along with learning all of them switch. Haven't ridden but all of 7 or 8 times this year so far and it's been really spread out, so not good for learning new tricks. However, I did land a slim chance for the first time a couple of weeks ago, just lost the handle as I was riding away Mad .

Been riding for 10 years. Still haven't landed a 360 yet. Things have gotten noticeably better once I bought my own boat (used to be a weekend warrior). I'm doing TS comfortably now and can get w2w 180s down. Switch riding still blows. I feel exactly like you sometimes. Then I punish by body for a few weeks trying a new trick (3's).

I know exactly what you're talking about though. It can become depressing until you remember you're out there to have fun. As long as you're having fun you're doing it right.

Personally have that issue where I keep trying stuff I dont have the skill level to complete... My switch riding is poor, however cant be bothered putting in the time to bring up my level as I only get to ride once a week for 30 min or so I want to go big every time and try stuff I have no right to

For example instread of nailing down a HS 180 Im like well why not skip the whole landing switch thing and go for the 360....needless to say I end up will a mild case of concussion every week and a rather silly grin on my face

Unfortunately same situation here. I've lost a ton of tricks over the years and have gotten into a comfortable phase where I just do the same tricks over and over because they're fun and relatively safe.

Hopefully once the weather gets sorted out here I can start to ride again to where I'm actually trying to progress instead of screwing around. Definitely have the boat to do it now where in the past that wasn't really the case.

My super duper ultimate goal is to get a 720 before I'm 30, totally doable....... right? lol

Me too. In fact I almost feel regression on a few tricks. A HS FS 180 was my "go to" and last year started grabbing them but my Half-cab was weak. Now I've got the half-cab dialed and almost always land it but can't land it regular to save my life. I took a step back this week and started from the beginning to make sure my foundation is more solid. Take a step back in order to take two steps forward I reckon.

I definitely felt like I stalled last year... a couple years ago I had reg and sw TS 5s back to back...last year I had neither, but I find that I consistently am becoming more stylish as time goes on and more comfortable with everything. This year I feel like Im starting to turn it up again (finally). I have two different 5s somewhat consistent and finally learned tantrums. I think Im on the brink of some really big tricks that Im hoping to start getting this year. Ive been on the water a ton so hopefully its just a matter of time before I hit a TS off 7, HS BS 5, HS FS 7, or crow mobe. We'll see
