Had one pulling a tuber right at the end of my last set. I usually do a backflip off the wake (no handle) to end my set. As I was cutting in for the pop I saw them coming right at me but it was too late, hit the wake and under rotated because I was scared as sh*t. Came up to see them off riding somewhere else. Stupid little teenage f*cks too. I didn't say anything but after thinking about it more, I've decided I'm going to flag them down and say something next time.

You know and I usually try to respect other sports - even tubers and jet skiers.

But when the tubers drive around to find the calm spot and then do nothing but turn donuts for five minutes to make waves for the tubers, I get p*ssed. Take the f*cking tubers out to the chop where they can have real waves and quit f*cking up the water for skiers/footers/boarders who need the smoothy smooth.

Then jet skiers are just fine and dandy until they get close. I don't care if they want to cut up in the smooth sometimes, that's totally fine. If I were riding a jetski I'd want to tear around in the smooth for a bit too, whipping donuts and stuff. The issue I have is the f*ckers always get super close to the boat / riders so they can hit your wake (aka nearly hit the f*cking riders because they don't know wtf they're doing).

we call them water roaches and treat them with the same respect as a roach, i will stop the boat and try to get them to stop for an explanation, if they speed off i just stop at the sandbar and talk to them, all but this one d1ckhead was understanding and respected our position on them and how far away they should stay

Just two nights ago I was pulling my buddy and he fell, I pulled power and before I could turn around this jackoff goes between me and my rider!!! Mad actually ran over my rope!
I've been driving a boat on my dads and grandpas lap since like 3 years old, but these idiots can just go out and buy a jet ski and they think they know it all.

You have to have a special license to ride a motorcycle, why not a jetski?

I 100% agree. I think the main problem is that young irresponsible people can go out and rent them (they don't even have to have enough money to buy them) and go out and terrorize.

I totally agree you should have to complete a class, because obviously they need training of some sort. It should be at least a month or 2 long also so only serious people do it.

As an aside If someone cut between me and the rider I'd totally flip.

I carry a video camera and have a decent telephoto lens mounted on my DSLR at all times when on the water. Everyone knows in my boat that if a jetskier or tuber is to close or acting like an a$$hat to start shooting footage, especially the numbers on the hull. More then once I've stopped at the rangers station and showed them the behavior and hull numbers. I've even gone so far as to burn a copy in the parking lot onto DVD with my laptop.

This has also been beneficial dealing with the rangers. They don't even stop me anymore at the ramp since I'm a low life, piece of stuff, "informant" for them. Wink

Agree, most people that buy a boat, pretty much know the rules for the most part.

I like the idea of having it be a long course, or maybe just a weeder class or two.

I think the reason there are not more accidents is because the boat drivers are good enough to protect themselves and their riders.

oh and I did flip out on the guy, mid 40's or so, should have known better. He was oblivious to anything and everything that was going on. But there was some traffic so I'm not gonna leave my rider to bitch out some jackoff.

Last night we rounded this corner here and there were two girls MAYBE 10 years old, dinkin around right in the middle of the "lane" on their jetski...WTF?!

i like the idea of shooting video of those guys, it wouldn't be hard to find them again the same day and simply say i have video of you riding too close that i am turning over to the po-po's if you don't start backing off people
