I had my boat winterized with the sound working and then just had it de-nterized to get ready to go for the season.

I took it out on the water and found that only one of my tower speakers works.

I bought the boat used and it had an aftermarket system installed. 3 amps, 4 speakers in the seating, 2 2by's on the tower, and 1 sub.

The boat is a 2006 x15.

Does anyone have any advice on how I could trouble shoot this and try and determine what the problem is and hopefully resolve the issue?

Thanks alot.

Have you checked any of the connections to see if something was pulled loose? Wires to the speakers at the speaker and the amp? Wires from the head unit to the amp?

Is it the only speaker not working?

Thanks for the response.

I have not checked anything yet as I did not want to just into and make it worse.

The head unit works and I can listen the radio, mp3 and cd through the one speaker.

I will check wires and power today and see if that is a factor.

No. Only speaker with sound is the one tower speaker.

Sounds like you could have multiple connections disconnected. You might look at the settings on the head unit for balance and fade too. Check it all out and see what you find and update the post.

Well I went and looked yesterday and feel a little sheepish. The guys who de-winterized forgot to re-install 3 of the negative terminals from the amps back onto the batteries.

I guess they didnt see them. They were tucked neatly under the cooler out of site.

I got them on and all is well. I am glad it was something minor, especially with Memorial Day this weekend.

Thanks for the help and troubleshooting. Next time, Ill post something after I take a look around.

Take it to a stereo shop and have one of the techs give you a run down of what you have . It will make trouble shooting much easier on you next time . When we did a big install , i always tried to make the owner understand what they had and give em basic trouble shooting just in case
