Just a quick question, will any type of hydro-foil increase or better the wake on an I/O?

Thanks

No, just like trim tabs they add surface area to the boat to help it lift the boat out of the water and put it on plane faster. Hydro-foils and trim tabs would both cause a smaller wake for this reason.

The pro's to Hydro-foils and trim tabs are that they help the boat to plane faster and at a slower speed which could be helpful for wakeboarding if you have a hard time keeping the speed you like.

I just added one to my 16ft, 3.0liter SeaRay i/o this weekend and I LOVE it. It completely eliminated the bow rise and made it possible to get to speed with 4 ppl in the boat and 300lbs of extra weight. For me it indirectly made the wake bigger because I am now able to get on plane and then to speed with the extra weight. There is no possible way i would have been able to before it. Highly recommend one based on my experiences.
