I'm off to court this morning, but here are a few iphone pics that I snapped this weekend. I got the boat Saturday morning and spent all day installing accessories. I'll post up more details later. Pictures are worth a thousand words through... Needless to say, I'm happy with the new boat.
One syn 4 powers the two tower speakers. One Sy 4 powers the cabin speakers. One syn 1 powers the xxx sub. With the ws420 eq and all xs650 interior speakers it sounds great! I just have to hook up the 3100 series agm batteries that I got from Nathan at xspowerbatteries.
The seating is the same for 2010. You have an optional jump seat that you can remove. The main differences that I've noticed for 2010 were the gps / video screen, upgraded radio LINC system, and redesigned swivel racks.
I didn't think I'd like the gps that much, but I drove my boat, by myself, about 15 miles down the Tennessee river Saturday night to meet some friends at a bar on the lake. The GPS was awesome because it marks the channel and some of the bouys. Plus, it tracks your driving so coming back up river at 2:30 a.m. I just had to follow the same line on the GPS going home.
I plan on slamming this thing with weight and getting some good shots of the wake posted up soon too.
Dont EVER change the paint on that thing, it's perfect. I can't honestly say I've ever seen a nicer looking boat. As mucksoup said, that was better then porn.
more info on that center seat! where does it go when you take it out? does it become the rear bench seat?
i like it. just curious as to the logistics when you want the walk space.
The bench seat back can un-pin and flip around underneath so you can use it as a table. Also, with the seat back flipped under, it fits in the rear hatch for storage. I'm used to stepping over it because I've had a bench on the last 3 230's. It's awesome for keeping people in the rear of the boat for surfing or just for added seating.
Chatt, you move your accessories from boat to boat, right?
Does the Z5 still tilt with the 485's right there? Any problems stowing items there with how close they are? _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular?
I reused the 485's, one syn4, the ws420, and the z5 from last year's boat. Everything else is new. I'd sell it all with the boat if the purchaser wanted everything and just get new stuff with the $$$, but it doesn't always work out that way. My dealer actually prefers that I return the boat to stock when I bring it in at the end of the season so he can sell it with the factory speakers in it.
Yes, the z5 works fine with the 485's. The only thing is you can't put wakeboards up on it. Surfboards still fit though.
Jump on www.chattwake.com and post up some info about yourself and who you ride with. Come to some of the tournaments up here and meet some local riders. It's pretty easy to make connections bro!
Chattwake, can you post more pics of the bimini? Who makes the bimini and is there use for the upper metal work? _________________ If I agreed with you we would both be wrong.
Not yet. I'm looking into static cling window tint. I run at night alot and I don't want to lose too much vision. I want to be able to pull off the tint on the driver's window if I need to. Plus, the GPS throws some mean glare at night and would only be worse with tint.
Boat looks sick. Maybe I will actually make it out on the Chattwake boat this year, but then again I can't even find time to go out on my buddies boat right now.
PM when you get sick of the Dodge. I probably won't be able to afford it, but I would atleast like to dream for a couple of days before depressingly tell you that I can't buy it.
I'm 5'10 and I have to stoop slightly when standing under it. However, it is supposed to mount a bit higher on the tower. The 485's require you to make the rack sit about 2 inches lower than normal.
I'd have to say it is my favorite accessory on the boat. I'll never own a boat withotu a z5 again.
Is it pretty sturdy in the wind when you are up at speed? I purchased a bimini from our dealer, not a Z5, and I am not very happy with it. Too many pins to mess with and they are always falling out. The one thing I do like about it is that it sits above the tower. I have 6-2 and have plenty of friends that are my height or taller so clearance is an issue.
I had an over the top bimini on my last 230 and had the same issues. They flap, they get loose, they bend, they are a pain in the butt to put up and take down, etc.
With a normal bimini, can you tow with it up? No. Can you put stuff on it for storage purposes? No. Can girls dance on your bimini? Nope. With the z5, the answers to those questions are yes.
Also, I love how you can mount neon or led's under the z5 to illuminate the interior if the boat. I had some red neon on last years. I'm going with multi color LED's this year.
It is absolutely sturdy and I tow with it up at 80mph.
