Guys has anyone out there ridden both and do you have a preferance? Pro's cons etc
Im probably what you would call an intermediate (working on my 360's at the mo, although yet to freaking land one) 5.11 198lbs.
Recon Ill need the 138 (classic) or the 139.
Ive ridden a 08 substance up to now which I get on well with but about to buy my own setup n they havent done one this year

Mattyboy, I'd go bigger, at just under 200 lbs the 42 will be a much smoother ride. And I'd probably recommend the watson classic over the watson for someone at your skill level, it's a much more forgiving board. The new waston shape likes to be on edge, it has a concave hull that tends to keep pulling onto edge. It makes it very fast and pops really well, but can tend to kinda pull away from you on landings, especially if you're under rotating that 3. The classic has softer rails and the bottom shape is overall convex, so it will ride out of sketchy situations easier. _________________

| nope lol.. the bigger the better! bigger board means more pop, more speed, softer landings.. its good stuff.. id see if you could switch that 138 to a 142, you wont be dissapointed... |

I disagree that bigger is better. I went from a 142 last season to a 138 this season and after only one day out the 138 is so much better (I weight around 160). I feel like I have much more control and overall its just a lot more fun. The bigger board was harder to maneuver and yes, it was softer on the landings but I dont think the pop is better at all on the bigger board. In the air, though, the smaller board is so much more "flickable" and its much easier to do tricks on. _________________ live it up |

Right well broke in the ol Watson Classic 142, and to be honest I think its gunna take a bit of getting used to. Feels so much bigger than what im used to but its my board not so will have to get it down. Pop was lil less than am used to but felt a bucket load more stable than usual which is actually I think what I needed as I am slightly irratic when I comes to Wakeboarding.
So onwards and upwards, on another note, LF Ultra bindings....EPIC LOVED THEM ABSOLUTLY LOVED THEM _________________ Live Life, Ride Hard, Rock On! |
