Well to most, I know you wont care, but I was pretty pumped yesterday evening.. My daughter (3), who is my biggest fan, loves to watch all our videos we have done in the past on my phone. I have gotten her tons of cartoons and other games, but she just loves watching us more than anything.. Well that being said, we were out yesterday evening, she was swimming around , like a fish by the way, around the back of the boat while we were filling tanks.. I asked her if she wanted to ride with me today, to the response, "sure, I will" while nodding her head very casually.. Anyway she did, and did great, she out did me, I finally had to quit.. She was ready to keep on going.. If you cant tell, pretty proud daddy here... Of course with all our tons of video and photog equipment, it was the one time that we had nothing but a phone, so I documented it, but pretty poorly.. It ended up being a great evening afterwords as well, Jeff was all but stomping out a tanny, and I got back my BS1... So I know this was a pretty boring post for most, would have been for me too a year or so ago, but when you get there, youll see.... Cool

That's awesome and a cute pic of her in your board. I wish i would have gotten to start that young, but wakeboarding wasn't around yet.

Awesome! I can't tell in the second pic, but do you have her just standing on the board between your legs? That's kinda what it looks like but it's a bit dark.

I never got to do that with my boys. They were basically too big and my skills weren't up to par to do the doubles on one board. I'd like to try it surfing with my younger one, possibly.

Not boring at all, Boating for us is all about enjoying times with your family. I wish my 5 year old would do this heck we cant even get him to cruise in the tube. My 13 yr. old was going to try to wakeboard this year but he broke his wrist Monday so that plan is out. Great pic of the lil one looking like she ready to go in the boat. Keep it up it's like everything in life if you don't get the kids involved there will be no sport someday.

In about 3.5 years, when my kid turns 3 (hopefully), I hope to be posting a similar post. Cool!

thanks guys!

Okie Boarder, Ya, the way we started off was her in my lap, arms wrapped over mine. Once we got up, I squatted down, and she was able to stand on the board.. We were good like that till my back started to cramp..

WOW! That is a brave daughter of yours, and that is pretty awesome how she was out there on the board with you.

I think what you are doing with her is great! my parents had a boat when I was younger like her and it was some of the best days I can remember from back in the day

That's what I do too, except I don't let them stand on the board long, as it is too hard to bend over, as you stated. I just carry them, kinda on my hip with them holding on. You can see some pics of my taking my 4 year old here: http://forums.wakeboarder.com/viewtopic.php?t=86657 . I usually start my kids riding with me before their first b-day. It is great to have kids that enjoy our sports isn't it?!?!?!

I've had people just freak out about it! But I'm like, "why?" Most hat happens is you fall in the water and get wet, just like they did when they jumped off the boat...

that's Great! Im tryin to figure out how old my little guy is going to be before I take him out with me. he's only 10 months right now so I know it will be a while before I get him on the wakeboard. But im thinkin he might get to ride in the tube with me sometime this summer or next! How old were your kids when they first got on the water?

My daughter just turned 5.
She loved tubing when she was 3 and 4.
Hoping I get to take her on my board at least once this year.

Thats awesome man. I did the same thing with my little brother last year. He was 6 then, and he loved it. Now he wants his own board and everything.

I start carrying them on the wakeboard with my at around 6 months. Sometimes might carry them on a tube, but they're just so rough... Usually around 2-3 they ride the tube with an older person.

I usually let them start tubing solo around 3-4, with an older person on another tube next to them.

I usually start them trying to ski on their own around 4 or 5. My 6 year old son is having a hard time getting the hang of it. I may have his 4 year old sister up on skiis this summer before him!?!
